So we ended up in the doctor’s office early Monday morning, and eventually in the ER all afternoon and into the wee hours of the morning last night, because little Camille wasn’t getting better. Luckily, after some blood work, our hunches were confirmed, that she had dehydration and low blood sugar levels caused by the stomach bug that was (is) going around. I’m always thankful for so many people when circumstances such as this arise. My parents, who live a mere mile away and were able to come watch Harper, a husband who is a partner in our parenting journey, and all the doctors and nurses who work so hard to get the little ones back to their normal selves. I left the ER last night feeling so grateful that we were able to leave, and that my child doesn’t have to experience an extended stay for a more serious condition.
All that to say, we have a toddler with much more pep in her step this morning (amen), and two tired parents (I guess that’s what 3 hours of sleep will do to you). I haven’t worn “normal” clothes in over a week, so this post has me craving something with a waist band.
All joking aside, I’m excited to share today’s simple post about transitioning denim across seasons. I love a good pair of jeans so much, and when I was streamlining my wardrobe, I knew denim needed to be front and center due to is versatility.
Whenever I’m transitioning my denim from cooler to warmer temps, it’s all about shedding layers, the right accessories, and bringing in lighter weight fabrics and summer textures. So ditching a heavy cardigan in lieu of a tank, and kicking off the sneakers and sliding into a chic pair of sandals. I really think denim is one of the most versatile investments you can make for your wardrobe, so hoping the images below can show how versatile, and easy, they are to transition across seasons.
I think this post expounds a bit on my last post about “How To Create Your Own Capsule Wardrobe” so I wanted to re-share it here in case anyone missed it…
I hope everyone has a good day ahead (or rest of your day, depending on what time it is for you)!

When I think of an all black outfit, I always think simple + chic, so transitioning it across seasons is a must. I recently wore the summer look (above) on a warm Friday afternoon, and then the next week, when temps dripped, wore the spring option. And while the base, black jeans + black tank, are the same, the outfits still look different and don’t feel like “I just wore that the other day.”
You could wear black jeans with a linen tank or top (seen here), this stripe tank, ribbed tank (seen above) to make the transition to the summer season. I also love this non-distressed pair of black jeans as well.
(Tank (another under $10 option), Cardigan (15% off with code Natalie15, not my code, another option here, here), Rope Tote (another option), Gold Sandals, Cap, Sneakers)
I had my eyes on these AGOLDE 90’s jeans for over a year… purchased them…. sent them back… then figured out sizing (I recommend going down 2 sizes in these), and now they’re possibly my most worn pair of denim (I ended up cutting the length because the cuff was too inconsistent for me)… and so easy to carry across seasons. I’ve worn them with chunky cardigan sweaters and sneakers/mules in the winter months, a lightweight jacket and tee in the spring, and then with a linen top and sandals in the summer months. Because of their fit, they give a beautifully relaxed look to them and with the right accessories can be dressed up or down as well.
(One Shoulder Top, White Button Down (under $30 option), Quilted Jacket, Brown Cashmere Sweater)
I love how classic and all white outfit looks and that goes for all seasons. A good pair of white jeans can beautifully layer with various wool textures during the cooler months, and look effortless when combined with lightweight pieces in the warmer months. I particularly love white denim for dressing up for a date in the summer months- this teddy camisole is a great pairing option.
This 90’s pair is one of my go-to pairs of white denim, but I also love this cropped option which has excellent stretch to it (as opposed to the 90’s jeans).
(Long Sweater Coat, Ribbed Cashmere Sweater (15% off with code Natalie15), Ribbed Cashmere Cardigan (same discount code applies), Ribbed Tank, Black Tank (another option here), Rope Tote (another option here))
