Weekend Recap

anthropology mug, itsy bitsy indulgences {Enjoying a new favorite Komboocha flavor in my new favorite mug}

This was a weekend of first’s for our little family. Harper had her first sleep over at Nana + Grand-Daddy’s house…. which meant TJ and I had our first full night, and morning, to ourselves since little miss was born…. which was followed by Harper’s first pumpkin carving experience… which she was lukewarm about in the beginning, but eventually warmed up to it. TJ and I spent the majority of our weekend in a training of sorts with our church. It was both a refreshing experience, and a wonderful renewal of faith. It was nice to be reminded that, no matter how challenging life can get, there is always a bigger plan at work…. A reminder that I don’t have to be in control all the time, as long as I have faith…

So, as we embark upon this week ahead, I go into it with a refreshed spirit… and, of course, excitement for the Halloween festivities (another first!!) with Harper! Hope you all have a great week and a fun evening filled with lots of treats, and no tricks!! Follow along on our instagram stories to see our trick-or-treating fun.

Being back on the clean eating train for a consistent amount of time has felt so good! I made this crockpot lentil detox soup for our Sunday night dinner. It was the perfect soup for a little Sunday night football… and baseball. When I have more time to cook, this is one of my favorite lentil soups. For our Halloween feast, I am thinking I will make this balsamic slow cooker pork. I want to try this sweet potato curry this week (I love curry….), and these marinated kale chicken bowls look delicious as well. Can you tell I’m hungry as I write this??

In preparation for the rainy weather we were supposed to have this weekend, I snagged a few warm weather items. I love this grey turtleneck sweater (which I will likely wear trick or treating…), as well as this cardigan hoodie. I also snagged this mock neck tee and fringe vest (I prefer the grey color) for days when the temps warm up too much to wear a sweater… I also love this gingham peplum top (so cute) and  this pullover sweater in light pink. A few other items I have my eyes on include this chunky sweater dress (with sneaker to make it casual….), this textured tunic (which comes in so many great color options), this camel colored cardigan (such a great basic), this drape knit tunic, and this stripe funnel neck sweater.

I have always loved faux fur and think it’s such a great way to dress up a basic outfit (one of my favorite faux fur looks here), and decided to round up a few chic options. I own a faux fur stole and wear it all the time. I think this grey one, as well as this brown option are both beautiful! I also love the look of faux fur on a sweater and think this mustard colored cardigan and black open front sweater are great options. I think this faux fur vest is great too, and how cozy does this jacket look?!

When I was running errands this weekend, I saw so many different stores decked out with Christmas decorations… already. While I like to take each holiday as it comes, it does get me looking forward to holiday dressing. I think this off the shoulder velvet top is such a gorgeous option, as is this satin dress (when paired with a leather jacket), and these gold heeled, velvet strappy sandals (so. gorgeous.).
