As I mentioned here, my recent style has consisted mainly of neutrals and basics. I’ve always loved an all black ensemble, and since becoming a mom, I have found that it’s one of the easiest ways to look put together. In a pinch (aka- when you’re getting dressed with one hand because there is a baby in the other…) you know that there won’t be any visible stains and that it can cover up any future stains to come throughout the day. Yet, it can also be a slightly flat look. My solution is to always add a few quick and easy pieces to “elevate” the all black outfit (you can see other “elevated” looks here and here). One of the easiest ways is by picking a pair of shoes that will stand out (as I did here). For a day of errands I pretty much live in sneakers and this pair adds just the right amount of color. Instead of tossing on a denim jacket to stay warm, I opted for this faux fur vest, which had me feeling all sorts of glam while walking around Trader Joe’s… and I guess that’s the point of this post… you can be basic and add a touch of glam whenever and wherever you want to! It’s all about feeling good despite those 3am wake up calls!
