There is something about a sweater dress at this stage of pregnancy that makes dressing that much easier. It meets all my criteria: cozy, stretchy (that one is key), and still maintains a level of chicness. It was always my goal during pregnancy to maintain a sense of style, to not hide the bump, and to embrace the changes that were going on with my body. It wasn’t always easy, and there were definitely melt downs here and there (accompanied with copious amounts of tears and sniffles), yet I always found a sweater dress to be a key in achieving those goals. It’s not too tight, allows the bump to be shown off, accentuates in the right places, and provides comfort. I last wore this one on one of our baby-moon weekends in Carmel, and decided to winterize it this past weekend by adding my ever so cozy over the knee boots and favorite faux fur vest (did you catch yesterday’s weekend recap where I highlighted a few faux fur favorites?).
I’ve gravitated towards faux fur for several seasons. I love the feminine touch it adds to any ensemble, and think it’s a wonderful alternative to a plain coat for added warmth. With the temperatures stabilizing in the cold arena in Southern California, I find myself incorporating it at any chance I get! And I just may have bought a little faux fur for my little one!
