It’s supposed to be winter here in So. Cal, but this last weekend it was a blazing 80 degrees. Right now as I type this? It’s rainy, windy, and in the mid 60’s (which yes, I realize for many people in this country that is still considered warm). With the changing temps, and having lived in California my whole life, I’ve never really been able to have distinct wardrobes. I’ve dreamt of the days when I could pack away swimsuits, cut-offs, and tanks and pull out the heavy sweaters, coats, and boots, or vice versa. It will simply never be a reality for me. Not that I am complaining. Since I learned years back that I have absolutely zero control over Mother Nature (two rainy trips to Europe and two to Cabo, I learned that lesson pretty quickly…) and her complete insensitivity to my desire for “weather specific” wardrobes, I have adapted to her way of life. Like this outfit here. You saw this duster just last week when the temps were low and the evening air brisk. This past weekend it also appeared with this oh-so versatile dress. To winterize this outfit all I wold have to do is pair it with a leather jacket or a heavier sweater, booties and voila… a summer piece is now winter ready. Moral of the story? If you live in Southern California don’t plan on “packing” away any article of clothing you own, just plan on allowing for bigger closet space :)!
