Wine of the Month

IMG_1908

The Central Coast is one of our family’s favorite places to indulge in wine. I remember very clearly the fist time I visited, at the ripe age of 21. I was taken by their high quality wines, both white and red (and rose!) that both the young and more mature palate can enjoy. In these hotter months, I find myself gravitating toward their cooler whites, that offer a respite from the heat and boldness of many reds. The flavor of the month for October: Lincourt’s Stainless Steel Chardonnay. I know lots of people are “ABC: Anything But Chardonnay,” but before you close your window, keep reading!

The stainless steel fermentation of this wine eliminates any and all oak exposure this wine may have had, which is what many people dislike about Chardonnays. Stainless Steel provides a cooler, crisper, lighter taste, that doesn’t have most of the typical flavors of a traditional Chard: oaky, buttery, creamy, etc. Instead, expect crisp citrus flavor, with just a little more body than a Sauvignon Blanc. Indulging with lunch or dinner? Pair it with grilled chicken or fresh white fish!
