I love weekends spent at home for the sheer reason that we can get a little creative in the kitchen… sometimes that means creatively ordering take-out… but more often than not it means that on Saturday nights we have a little extra time to make our dinners, and libations, a little special…. it’s often when some of our best recipes come together (like this breakfast skillet… these gin + tonics… just to name a few favorites).
So last weekend, when we were out at lunch we got to thinking about what sounded good for dinner (logical… thinking about the next meal before you’ve even finished your current meal….). TJ + I play a game where we try to see if we can guess what the other one wants… or see if we’re on the same page. We were…. both wanting margaritas + tacos.
So came the creation of this incredibly simple margarita concoction. It’s spicy, it’s skinny, + it’s a thirst quencher for sure. Highly recommend with a basket of chips + guac, some homemade street tacos, and some comfy clothes!
The Spicy, Skinny, Margarita
2oz Silver Tequilla (we used Patron)
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1 tsp agave nectar
Trader Joe’s Chili Lime Seasoning
Sliced Jalapeños
Combine tequilla, lime juice, and agave nectar in a cocktail shaker filled with glass + some sliced jalapeños. Shake. Rub a lime around the rim of a cocktail glass, then out rim down into chili lime seasoning to line the rim. Fill glass with ice. Pour cocktail into the glass + garnish with sliced jalapeños.
Cheers!!
