I’ll never forget when I began the process of switching over to non-toxic cleaning products. It was right before Harper was born and I read an article somewhere that said something to the effect of “Inevitably someone will drop a piece of lunch meat on the countertop and without thinking put it back on their sandwich…. is what you used to clean the countertop filled with toxic chemicals?” I had never thought of it in those terms. I didn’t need much convincing after that, especially knowing I’d soon have a little baby crawling on the ground, I wanted to make sure our home was as safe from chemicals + toxins as possible….. and, especially now that little miss loves helping it’s even more important that the products I use are safe.

Over the years I’ve tried out many different products to find the ones that actually work for our family (there are products that just don’t cut it, so it took some trial and error). I was so excited when I was introduced to Grove Collaborative…. they’re a customizable subscription service that delivers healthy, eco friendly, and affordable home, beauty, and personal care products directly to your home. Which, for a busy family, means you won’t be stuck in a bind when no one has any clean underwear and you go to do a load of laundry and the detergent is all gone (I mean, not that that’s ever happened to us…..). What I love about the service is that you can choose how often you need products (maybe once a month is too much for your family… it’s typically about right for us….) and can also make changes to the items you want at any time (you can read more about all of that goodness here). I’ll be adding a bunch of baby products to my shipment next month (which will be so nice to not have to think about on a regular basis). And since Grove carries all of my favorite non toxic cleaning lines, I’m excited to be partnering with them today to share which ones I use regularly….

Method products are the ones I use most frequently (and have for the past several years) for cleaning purposes. From their line, my favorites are as follows:

Dish Soap (suds up and gets the job done)
All Purpose + Antibacterial Cleaner (we use this mainly to clean our countertops)
Glass Cleaner (leaves glass surfaces streak free)
Antibacterial Bathroom Cleaner
Wood Floor Cleaner (love the subtle shine this gives our floor, in addition to how clean it looks)
All Purpose Compostable Cleaning Wipes (I take these in my car for messes on the go….)

I’ve also been using Seventh Generation products for about a year now….. 

Seventh Generation Laundry Detergent (+ stain remover which you will most definitely want for any stains since the detergent doesn’t lift as well without it)
Dish Gel + Rinse Aid Set
