Weekend Snaps

Last week, I saw a funny meme with Ernie and Bert from Sesame Street… including it below for reference… and I immediately related to it (and couldn’t help but laugh at its accuracy).

When I was younger (and by younger I am referencing the ages of 16-35… so quite a range haha), I would say yes to to just about every invitation that was thrown at me/us to socialize… and then I’d wonder why I’d shut down in the middle of said social situation. Over the years, as I’ve grown to known myself better, I have accepted my introverted nature, and now respect (and recognize) when my body is giving me cues that it’s time to leave… or better yet, politely decline, social invitations.

And if there was ever a time when my body was on high warning alert, it was this past weekend. The week was one with a rollercoaster of ups and downs (with most of the downs pertaining to work) so going into Thursday (which was our “Friday” since the girls had Halloween off) I was already feeling the need to retreat. But the girls had a full Thursday evening of Flag Football games and then we rolled right into Halloween which started with a party with friends and then trick or treating with my family, and then when I thought we had nothing on the agenda for Saturday (silent celebration inside) we were invited to a World Series Game 7 party (last minute) and accepted the invitation. So when Sunday rolled around, I went into hibernation mode. I vetoed any invitations to get together, and relished in the calm, slow, day my nervous system was craving. Although, I could probably use an entire week of that right now, hahah….

But whether you’re like me and enjoyed a reset Sunday before the busy week ahead, or are the more extroverted one and accepted all the social invitations this weekend, I hope you had a wonderful couple of days!

Hoping to have November’s capsule up this week….

_______

(Kicking off Halloween on Thursday with the school parade and party…)

(Halloween lunch with the family… jeans, cardigan, flats, bag)

(A Halloween party for the girls’ friends to kick off the night, then trick or treating at my parents… had fun dressed up as Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars from their epic “Die With A Smile” album cover….)

(World Series Game 7 watch party with friends… relied on the magic 8 ball the entire game and it didn’t disappoint… navy sweatshirt, jeans, loafers)

(Sunday morning breakfast at Parakeet Cafe….sweatshirt, pants, loafers)
______

If you’re starting your holiday shopping I’ve started to create some gift guides, and have a few ideas for Tweens (most of these items are items we own, or have been included on current season wish-lists)… like this cute pickle-ball court, FitbitACE watch, Polaroid GO camera, Ugg TAZZ platforms, WICKED LEGOS, cozy fleece robe, neon name sign, and this karaoke machine.

For littler kiddos (think 5-8ish…) this bead kit is beautiful and a hit in our home, sequin rainbow track suit, cz hoop earrings (perfect small hoop for littles), heart shaped vanity mirror, karaoke microphone, and this woom bike (girls learned to ride a bike with their wooms and we bought a different brand for them a few seasons ago, that was “so cute” but the quality was awful… we wished we had spent more on these bikes…).

Annnd, if you have a furry friend, I have this tartan bow clip for Captain’s collar in my cart…
