(Such a beautiful, warm, weekend…)
Friday afternoon TJ showed me a total fixer up, in the neighborhood we want to live in, and told me he thought it had a lot of potential. As I swiped through the photos of a very old home, I couldn’t help but start to put our own personal touches on each room (thanks to watching way too much “Fixer Upper” I had walls knocked down, paint colors picked out, and siding planned for the outside of the house…). We drove by it on our way home that evening, and fell in love with the quiet neighborhood. We immediately contacted our relator, wanting to see it ASAP…..
We looked forward to it all Saturday morning, and when we arrived at the open house (the owner didn’t want any private showings… everything with her realtor present….) our realtor informed us that it had been canceled and that they already had two counteroffers on the table…. we threw out various scenarios, worked with the numbers, and decided that we wanted to go in with an aggressive offer…..
I spent all Saturday afternoon writing a heartfelt letter to the owner, attaching family photos, and sharing our hopes and dreams for the home….Sunday was spent compiling financial documents, and then Sunday afternoon we submitted our official offer…..
And now, we wait. As I shared last week, I don’t do well with the waiting process. Yet, I’ve given this to God. We are trusting that if this house is meant to be, it will happen… and if it’s not, something better for our little family will come along. I trust the process because as I reflect on my life, I can recall so many things that I thought were “perfect” for me, but ended up not being so… had I gone to my initial first choice college (which I got rejected from) I never would have met TJ…. there are so many situations like this in my life, and I know that this is no different.
So, as we head into the week ahead, I do so with trust in the process… but still anxiously awaiting. Have a wonderful week friends! xx

___________
Did my first yoga tone class after several months off from yoga and loved how sore my arms were the next day…. thinking it’s time to start reincorporating yoga into my workout routine. Also thinking about making these loaded sweet potatoes this week….
I finally had a chance to sit down and look at the shoe selection from the Nordstrom sale… and decided to order these studded mules in the rust color. I think they can easily be worn now, and into the fall. I also found some super cute dresses, perfect for summer and fall (because, let’s be honest, summer really just started….). I love this stripe shift dress (it’s super cute on!), racerback blouson dress (James Perse has such well made classic pieces), floral tie front jumpsuit, tiered ruffle dress (beautiful for a summer wedding….).
I also somehow missed this beautiful kimono blouse in white, basic ribbed long sleeve tee (easy to wear with shorts, jeans, and joggers), soft drapey jacket , and this longline denim jacket (perfect with leggings….)….
I also had a request for some workwear pieces…. this blazer is a beautiful choice, as is this houndstooth blazer in the tonal color. For pants, these tie waist ankle pants and tie waist wide legged pants are a great option, and both come in regular and petite lengths. Tops that would go with the above mentioned pieces include this beautiful cami, and this ruffle neck blouse, scalloped edge top. As far as shoes go, I love these d’orsay flats (and investment, but Vince shoes last forever) and these slingback kitten heel pumps.
Annnd, I love this stripe shorts + hoodie combo to lounge in… or even wear the hoodie solo with jeans!
