Weekend Recap || A Simple Reframe

Last week ended on a slightly wild note (dead car battery right as I was taking Harper to school, fun toddler meltdowns, etc….) so when Friday came we couldn’t be happier. We didn’t have any firm plans, and let the weekend unfold as it did…. family lunch to take advantage of the beautiful weather, backyard time with the girls, and then a lazy, rainy, Sunday morning followed by lots of prepping for the week ahead.

During the thick of “life” last week I reminded myself of this little quote I saw a while back:

“How many of your have to’s are get to’s?”

I think it’s so easy to get caught up in the everyday bumps along the road, but whenever I really start to think about them, I quickly realize that so many of them are actually privileges that I get the opportunity to take on…. teaching my daughter how to navigate her emotions (while there are many who would love to be able to have children), replacing my car battery to have the luxury to drive, etc. I guess it’s always a simple shift in perspective that allows me to not allow negative situations to overtake my day.

Have a great week ahead friends! xx

(Kept it simple + casual for Friday afternoon… jeans, tank)

(When your favorite Greek restaurant just gets you…. All. The. Pita)

(And then all about comfort for Friday night… pants, tee)

(Headed down for a beautiful lunch by the beach Saturday afternoon…. coatigan, jeans, tee)

(Then came home and watched Frozen 2 with this little cutie for a mellow afternoon….)

(A rainy Sunday morning of errands…. jacket, leggings, hoodie, sneakers)

(The end to our productive, lazy, and fun weekend…. my top, joggers, Harper’s nightgown, Camille’s onesie)
______
I’m going between the Santa Ynez Half Marathon + the OC Half Marathon, both in May… my preference will always be a race in wine country! I bought this stripe tank for the *potential* training process.

The Shopbop sale started today for insiders, which is super easy to sign up for (I’ll have a full roundup on the blog tomorrow). This is always an excellent way to make investment purchases on brands such as Golden Goose, Anine Bing (amazing graphic tees), and vacation style pieces.

American Eagle is having a friends + family, 30% off sale…. a few items I think are super cute + versatile for this spring season include this half-zip pullover (not fleece, which I like), this black one piece suit, and this beautiful mauve flecked two piece suit.

We will be going to Hawaii in a couple of weeks + I love this stone colored jumpsuit, embellished crochet dress, + crochet white dress (could double as a cover-up + going out dress) as new pieces to pack… but will also be bringing along this polka dot dress + knit coverup from last season.

I’m heading to New York this Wednesday for a quick trip + the temps are much cooler than they are in CA…. that being said, this teddy coat, hoodie, pullover, joggers, + sweater coat will all be coming along with me!

A few adorable finds for the girls include these floral suits, jersey rompers, and this floral bubble romper.
