Coming in a little late over here with this week’s WR post… but we all took a couple days off + had a staycation in our own backyard. We spent the time sleeping in (well, until 7:30am), playing in the backyard, and enjoyed our evenings outside by the fire-pit. Since both TJ + myself work from home (and TJ has fortunately been able to continue doing so during the stay at home orders) it was a nice extended weekend. Especially given that Sunday was Mother’s Day…

I was thinking last week, leading up to Mother’s Day, how so often it’s nice to “have a break” from the motherhood duties for the day. Yet, something changed within me this year. And while I will admit I (happily) relinquished all diaper changing duties to TJ for the day (and the making of meals….), my mentality was one of “I get to” as opposed to “I have to.” I know that Mother’s Day is not always easy for everyone… there are those that have lost mom’s, have lost children, struggle with infertility, + are having difficulties adopting a child. And while this is something I have always been very aware of, reminding myself of this granted me a changed perspective this past Sunday. How lucky am I that I get to be part of this crazy journey… one that tests me daily + pushes me to be better… called motherhood? So I spent the day hugging the girls a little tighter, playing a little sillier, and singing a few extra songs at bedtime.

The weather has been so warm here lately, that I’ve been able to wear shorts + a tee for my morning workouts. I have my eye on these biker short/shorts (love the combo) and this tee in black (I already own it in white and wear it all the time).

I mentioned last week that I was looking at some crossover slides… I ended up getting these and they’re great! So easy to just throw on and go.
