Weekend Recap || Feelings

(A beautiful Spring weekend….)

If I’m being completely transparent, I’ve been all over the place with feelings lately…. mainly pertaining to the uncertainty of life at this moment. And while I know that there are certain certainties (thank you Frozen 2 for that line…) in life, and that those are the aspects I should be focusing on, it’s hard not to allow fear, frustration, and sadness to creep in from time to time. Amidst the fun we were able to create at home this weekend, there were still moments where I had to pause, take a deep breath, and remind myself that my feelings are real, valid, and okay. Then Sunday morning when I was doing my regular instagram scroll I came across this relatively poignant text that seemed to be the gentle reminder that I needed. It read:

I imagine if Dr. Seuss were alive today, he’d write something like this: (read with Dr. Seuss book rhythm)

The buildings were big and people would smile
And travel they would mile by mile.
But sick they become, in numbers it grew
Businesses worried, communities too.
Things stopped for a bit, the world slowed its roll
The virus has certainly taken its toll.
But what they then saw from slowing things down,
Is in fact they now had less reasons to frown.
Families now gathered, what game shall we play?
Pass me the blue crayon, give mommy the grey.
Dad’s (and Mom’s… that’s my personal touch) home guys! He’ll read us a book
Then all of us together will cook.
The lungs of the planet caught a small break
Less travel meant less pollution to make.
People did realize they’d all be ok
They don’t need so much to get through the day.
Maybe this virus that causes so much stress
Showed the whole world that more can be less.

So with that I hope you all have a great week… highs, lows, ups, + downs… with emotions, relationships, homeschooling, and life in general… remember it’s ok to have feelings and allow yourself the opportunity to feel them.

Given that most gyms in the country are currently closed I wanted to share that Peloton + Tone It Up are offering free memberships for a short period of time. I bought this sports bra a couple of weeks ago though and it has been great for my morning runs. Highly recommend…. and this fitted long sleeve top has been amazing as well (love the back pocket perfect for a key).

Banana Republic is currently offering 40% off full priced items. I personally own, and love, this leopard print dress, white satin slipdress (was going to wear it on Easter, but not sure if we will be able to go to church or have a family get together), black jumpsuit, white utility jacket, and this pima cotton white tee.

Free People is temporarily offering 25% off select items… my personal favorites include this v-neck tan cashmere sweater, ribbed midi skirt, + this ribbed bodysuit.

Adidas is having 30% off… if you’ve been wanting to check out the ultraboost sneakers, they’re my go to pair for running.

We’ve been working on our backyard space, since we’ll be spending a lot of time there for the foreseeable future, and I have my eye on these black and white loungers. I also like this terracotta colored outdoor rug for underneath our dining table.

Since most of us are home bound I love all the clothing items in this “At-Home” Shop– particularly this ivory pajama set, ombré vintage tee, + this lion graphic tee (own and so comfortable).
