Weekend Recap ||Fear

(Beautiful weather all weekend long….)

Last week someone had suggested to me that I take my “Champagne Chats” series to instagram stories. Take the questions + answer them in a more “alive” + “engaging” fashion. On paper, I readily agreed, but on the morning of, I could feel a little tinge of anxiety building inside of me….

Social media is an interesting place… one that connects people + can create a community… but also one that allows judgements to be passed + hurt to be thrown. So as I sat there on the morning of, reading through some of the questions, I sort of wanted to back out. A lot of them had to do with marriage, motherhood, parenting, being a therapist… personal questions that I have no problem talking about through written word…. but to chat about them, give life the the answers, gave the introvert within me fear….

Then I remembered a blog post I wrote about 6 years ago… that everything you want is on the other side of fear… the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. I realized that if I wanted to create a deeper sense of community I needed to get past the fears I was having (and I am well aware that these might sound trivial to others) and just do it. When it was over, I waited until the next afternoon to read many of the direct messages (again, fear of negativity)… and was genuinely appreciative of the messages requesting more + saying that it helped them in some way.

So, I guess the point of sharing this is just to say that if you’re sitting on something… letting fear hold you back from just doing it… maybe it’s time to just take the first step. Who knows what lies ahead…..

Have a great week friends! xx

_______

I’m craving a getaway…. so I did a little saving of items that I would pack in my suitcase….

LOVE this leopard coverup skirt… which when paired with a white swimsuit or this black henley suit, would work for happy hour/dinner as well. Love pieces like that!

A few cute suits under $100 include this leopard one piece (love the low back), layered one piece (love the cut out details), + this blush + white suit.

I’ve had this eyelet blouse in my cart for a couple months now… love how it looks tucked into shorts…. just would also work with jeans in the cooler months.

I also saw these adorable Havaianas sandals… love the little bow details + they look like great poolside options. These knotted slides are beautiful for evenings….

I’m obsessed with these light gray paperbag shorts… for some reason gray shades have been on my radar this season. I ended up purchasing this gray denim jacket when it was on sale and can’t wait for it to arrive.

I have also been on the hunt for white joggers. I have been looking obsessively and haven’t been able to find anything that isn’t super see through or over $200. I found this white pair… I think they’ll be oversized, so we will see how they work.

I have an event with Urban Outfitters next week + I am thinking about these “brown” (although I’m hoping they’re more mauve) pants + matching tank… or these black silky joggers + this ribbed sweater (or nude bodysuit).
