What a weekend! I love weekends where your heart feels full and you feel absolutely content at the end…. and it just happened to be one of those for me. I was a little apprehensive at the start though. I knew that we had a pretty full weekend visiting with family and friends, and between nursing and getting from point A to point B I was wondering how “relaxed” it would really be. I’d say it wasn’t relaxing. Not at all. Yet, I wouldn’t trade it in for anything. We met some friends down in Laguna Saturday afternoon and had a nice lunch catching up. After a quick stop to nurse, my little squad (i.e. TJ and Harper) decided to park ourselves in the lobby at The Montage, take in the scenery, and have a little glass of bubbly to celebrate the Easter weekend. Sunday morning we were able to return to church with little Harper in tow for a beautiful church service followed by a delicious brunch and dinner with the family. I mean, how could my heart not feel full and content on Sunday evening?
The funny thing is that on Friday night, TJ and I were talking about where we were at this time last year. We were preparing for our European adventure, full of anticipation and excitement. I wondered, out-loud, if we would ever have that opportunity again. And here’s the thing I realized after this weekend. It’s not always where you are, but it’s the people you are surrounded by, that make everything special. Saturday, we were a mere 10 miles from home… yet, I felt as if we were miles away, enjoying our time as a family of three. In that light, we committed to more local adventures with our little mini crew.
So…. here’s to a week of valuing those you’re with and planning a weekend with tiny adventures! Hope you all have a great one and that you had a blessed Easter weekend with those you love!
{The cutest little Easter bunny cookie (with a broken ear….)… and a few other little indulgences…}
{A little bubbly sipping and exploring around Laguna}
{Little Harper’s first Easter basket from Nana… complete with the cutest little swimsuits (leopard, polka dot}
This weekend was relatively indulgent, so you can be certain I’ll be munching on this salad, and probably these superfood bowls this week!
I know the official start of spring is always before Easter, but for some reason Easter signifies spring for me. In that light I am loving flowy maxi dresses right now (all these are under $110!). I’ve had my eye on this off the shoulder version, and loving this white (and navy) strapless dress, floral strapless dress, and this casual black and white striped maxi…. and who can resist this floral cut-out midi?? With these beautiful weekends I’m already thinking about bathing suits…. but I’m not so sure about the middle area quite yet, so I’m eyeing this cut-out one-piece and this striped low back suit…. and for when I’m feeling brave enough to bare the middle, this crochet two piece is spot on. I’m also contemplating these black cutoffs, embroidered chambray top, and basic open shoulder tee (which comes in two colors!).
And, of course, I can’t forget little miss’ wish-list…. how cute is this little tunic and bubble short combo??…. and this hot pink and floral romper??
