Weekend Recap: Boston

boston, itsy bitsy indulgences {5 hours with little miss…. comfy attire required. (sweater, travel bag)}

After a long 5 hour flight, we touched down in Bean-town and have one last full day to enjoy this city (so, I apologize that this will likely be a shorter than usual post). We’ve been exploring all day, everyday, and have loved every second of it. While traveling with little miss isn’t always easy, it is certainly worth it. While Harper was napping in the room the other day, TJ and I relaxed with a glass of champagne. Between sipping and taking in the view from our room, we decided that, although traveling is so different than it was pre-parenthood, it’s so worth it to have these memories with our little family. So, in that light, here’s to making the most of our last day… making memories…. and making it through the 6 hours (!!!) flight home with a squirmy little bébé! Prayers welcome (insert wink face emoji here)!

I always love getting a chance to eat new foods and indulge a little when on vacation, but in all honesty, I love returning home and getting back into a clean eating rhythm… which is exactly what will start on Tuesday morning. I’m looking forward to making this sweet potato crust pizza (I’ve made it before and the crust is amazing), as well as some of my favorite oatmeal bake (super quick and easy for those rushed mornings).

My little sister got engaged over the weekend! We have so many fun upcoming celebrations over the next several months, but the one coming up quickly will be her engagement party. I’m looking for a dress that will be able to be worn dressy and casual. I found this gorgeous floral maxi (would likely pair it with a leather jacket), long-sleeve floral midi, and this cut-out geometric print dress.

We’ve recently booked a few more trips over the next several weeks, and the most recent one is to Napa and Sacramento at the end of next weekend. I purchased this fringe open front cardigan for the cooler evenings, and this gorgeous mustard yellow dress (I don’t like how the model wears it though…) for a day of wine tasting. I’ll likely pair the cardigan with my favorite lace tunic.

With all the traveling we’re doing, I’m looking for clothes that are chic, yet comfortable, to wear en route. I purchased this mauve colored sweatshirt for this recent trip and it is so comfortable, that I’m looking at a few other options. I love this distressed sweatshirt, this striped lace-up cutie, as well as this burnout option (comes in so many cute colors and a great price point). When we head to Hawaii at the beginning of October, I think this short sleeve sweatshirt will be a great option (although, I’ll probably wear it waaaay before October.). I’m also in the market for a new pair of sneakers for all this traveling. I love this olive colored option…. but also this pink and grey pair, velvet mauve option, and velcro version.

I also recently purchased this camo tee… it’s super comfy and a perfect everyday option. A few other pieces that I am loving include this lace inset cami (love it dressed up or down), mauve colored cross front sweater (can you tell I’m having a mauve moment), and this amber color cable knit sweater (love the distressed detailing).
