If you follow along on instagram, you will have already seen what I am about to write (well, part of it at least). I briefly touched on the fact that I have come to realize that motherhood requires taking life one day at a time. Some days are a complete success… everything falls into place and life flows. While the next day can seem like a complete disaster…. the schedule is thrown off and the day doesn’t feel right (maybe not the whole day…). This weekend was one of those weekends where my heart simply felt full. It started with a long lunch with old college friends on Friday afternoon (where I felt confident enough to nurse in public… covered of course), a Saturday spent around town with a little rosé, fireside, to end the evening. Then Valentine’s Day started with a wonderful breakfast and family hike… there was nothing grand about the weekend in general, it just felt like all the pieces were finally falling into place.
I’ve found this process to be true throughout my life. I like to look at it as a growing curve. Changes in life cause a dip, and while the adjustment phase occurs, there are peaks and valleys… followed by a temporary leveling off. It’s in those peaks and valleys that I grow and learn…. and in the leveling off periods that I feel a sense of comfort and peace. However long this “leveling off” lasts this time (even if only for two days!), I am grateful for it. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend filled with love for yourself and others!
{My new favorite kicks}
{Spilled my chai latte a little… but love the words of affirmation from Cafe Gratitude}
{Family walk in back bay- shoes, leggings, carrier, beanie, top}
{My mom made some yummy baked blueberry donuts for Valentine’s Day}
So many great sales this weekend, and just in time for our upcoming trip (which I am so so excited for!!): Banana Republic is offering 40% off any purchase. I and scooped up these gorgeous flats (in silver and violet… but there are several color options) and this stripe ruffle sweater. I love this faux suede jacket and can’t wait to wear it between seasons. This blush pullover and camisole are perfectly feminine and sweet. I’m also seriously contemplating this ruffle hem dress since the warmer weather doesn’t appear to be leaving anytime soon.
I’ve also decided to include a wish-list for Harper too… since I am constantly looking for cute little pieces for her! Gap is having 40% off and I’m loving this little swiss dot denim jumper and white floral embroidered jumper. These little pink bloomer pants and pink and orange stripe top have already been purchased for next weekend.
