It’s hard to believe that 6 years have passed since little miss entered our lives. I always used to laugh when my mom would say, every year on our birthdays, “I remember exactly what I was doing the night before you were born…” because now I say it to Harper. It was a very stormy night, I was set to be induced the next morning, I had been very emotional that entire day, and I made a vegetable soup (I remember it was loaded with potatoes because I craved them during that pregnancy…). TJ and I went to bed knowing it was our last night, just the two of us… and around 2am I was awakened with contractions (mind you, we’d already had 2 false alarms that involved us going to the hospital and then being sent home…). I monitored them for a bit before waking TJ up, and when I tapped him on the shoulder and told him it was time to go, he didn’t believe me… the result of two prior false alarms, haha. After that the rest is history…
When I was pregnant, I never thought I’d be a mom who became sad as her child grew up… but as I looked at photos of Harper over the years, I had tears in my eyes…. not because I wish she would stay young forever, I love watching her grow and cultivate her interests, but because time has made it all go so fast… and time is the one thing we never get back. Each birthday, I revisit a photo of Harper and myself moments after she was born, and I can always vividly remember the mix of feelings I had as if it was yesterday. Fear… “I have no clue what I’m doing or how to keep this baby alive.” Amazement… “That came out of me???” Along with exhaustion, love, and everything in between. Somehow six years has flown by… we’ve grown together during this journey, and I can’t wait to see where this next year takes her.
We spent the weekend celebrating with family, and sharing a few of those photos… and some other ones… below. I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!
(6 years old on Friday!)
(Spent Friday prepping for birthday celebrations… leggings, top, sweater coat, sneakers)
(Spent Saturday celebrating Harper’s birthday with family… a fairy theme (my mom made the dresses) and a princess bounce house…. plates, balloon garland, napkins, fairy garland, fairy wings + flower crown)
(Spent Sunday in a slow state of mind, starting with a morning walk… leggings, vest, pullover, sneakers)

Refreshed a few fitness favorites with this black tee (I have it in white and love it), one shoulder ribbed sports bra, and this long sleeve running top. Also, how cute are these leggings???
If you’re looking for a super soft and comfortable basic tee, this one is a favorite and under $20. I took my regular size, but if you want it more oversized, I’d size up.
I found a near identical plaid shirt jacket to the brown and black one I have… under $50 and great for cold temps…
And if you have a warm weather vacation planned, my go-to black crinkle one piece is back…
These fleece joggers (come in petite sizes) and on sale for under $50… I have them and they’re super warm. I recommend sizing down.
I had my eye on this oversized cardigan sweater for a few months, and then it sold out. It was restocked yesterday, so I made the purchase… hoping it looks good!
Everlane just released a new, butter soft, jogger and I’m super interested in trying it… lots of great colors, but I have my eyes on the mocha. I also love this oversized puffer vest.
