We headed out of town, early Saturday morning, for a quick little 24 hour getaway to Santa Barbara (we figured we’d beat the MDW rush…).
Life has felt as if it’s been moving so fast lately. It feels as if it was just yesterday that we dropped the girls off for their first day of school… and now here we are, a mere two weeks away from the start of summer break. They’re in that sweet spot right now… where they still love being around us. They hold our hands, still love walking up with us to school (and give us *un-embarassed* hugs when we say good-bye (I also know that’s not a word haha)), want us to come to everything and anything… so we’re savoring all those little moments while we can.
I read somewhere that you never know when it will be “your last.” The last time they give you that hug in front of their friends where they’re not embarrassed, “the last” time they ask you to sing their favorite song before they go to bed, etc… and while I know “lasts” often lead to new “firsts” I guess the point is that you just don’t get time back, so I’m trying to savor this time as much as possible.
And with that, I hope everyone has a wonderful start to the week. I’ll have styled outfits from May’s capsule (I actually wrote April at first…) up this week, as well as a roundup of our favorites from the MDW sales.
Have a good one!

Madewell is having 20% off with code LTK20. I purchased this red poplin skirt, own and love this red linen skirt, studded belt, and this bubble cropped jacket. I also think these cotton poplin shorts and matching button down and butter yellow boatneck top are great for summer.
One of my favorite pairs of denim shorts from last year (Everlane) was released in an ivory color. I have them in black, and they’re the perfect length and fit. No distressing, so very chic. And if you’re not into denim shorts, these “easy shorts” look like such a good, elevated, alternative.
I wore this SPANX sleeveless jumpsuit last week and felt so comfortable, yet elevated (and received several compliments). You can use code ITSYBISTYxSPANX for 15% off and free shipping on your first purchase.
My favorite running shorts were restocked in a ton of new colors.. I love that they have a built in liner, and are so comfortable. I have them in 4 colors.
This linen floral maxi dress I took to the DR as a coverup, but wore with a half slip for a Mother’s Day BBQ is an extra 60% off making it under $50. Also, these satin yellow shorts I wore last week are 40% off. Love them, and can’t recommend them more!
