Weekend Recap

School started this past week, and it always brings a mix of emotions. On the one hand, there is the whole old “Staples” commercial with the Christmas song, “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year…” side of emotions, and then on the other hand, another year means another year older, and marks the passage of time. If you ask me, parenthood is one big ball of emotions. One moment you’re celebrating that they’re back in school, and then the next you are left realizing that there are only 10 more “first” days of school, and after that, they’re “gone” (figuratively…). And when I sit and think about how quickly the first 7 years of Harper’s life have gone, I just know that the next 10 will fly by before I know it and we’ll be sending her off for her last “first” day of school…

Soooo, that’s pretty much where my mind, and heart, was for the latter half of the week. Feeling all the ranges of emotions as we headed back for another year of school… so we welcomed a relaxing weekend, after falling back into the groove of the school year…

And that’s just what it was… a Saturday beach walk, family lunch, an Italian feast for dinner, and then a low-key Sunday hunkered down at home as we prepared for the Tropical Storm….

Now ready to tackle a new week ahead. I hope you had a great weekend and have a wonderful coming week!

J.Crew has some cute new pre-fall arrivals… this contrast trim cable knit cardigan, ruffle sleeve top, leather ankle boots (so chic), side slit pull on silk skirt (absolutely beautiful paired with the matching silk cami), I own this silk cami dress that they restocked (in the tan… great for an office setting, or a special occasion as well… very versatile), love this heritage barn jacket (the collar is a beautiful contrast to the olive green) and the Ella long coatigan was restocked in this beautiful, and versatile, tan color….

If you have a fall wedding, loving this floral dress, this shorter floral dress, paisley print dress, and this black satin dress.

I bought two denim skirts for the end of summer and early fall (think they will look so beautiful with boots/sneakers and long sleeve tops and sweaters…)… trying to decide between this ivory skirt and this tan maxi skirt (well, maxi on me since I’m short).

This mahogny bucket bag is a beautiful option for the upcoming season… and I love this cotton tank sweater vest, golden silk top, and this long sleeve workout dress.

Varley has some great new double soft arrivals as well… I think this zip through sweatshirt and these relaxed joggers look so cozy…

Gap launched a collaboration with LoveShackFancy and their items for little girls are so cute… the girls got this skirt, tee, and sweatshirt
