It was the first fall-feels weekend for us…complete with thunder and lightening storms… so we did what any rational Southern Californian would do… everything fall (well, not everything). We made lots of soup, had the fireplace going, wore all the sweaters and cozy layers we bought back in September (but couldn’t wear without sweating bullets), and enjoyed a lazy Sunday at home (well, aside from the 6 loads of laundry and a complete refrigerator clean out…). Even lit my favorite fall candle to really round out that “basic” fall-ness (I also forgot about the chocolate chip pumpkin muffins we baked…). And now, we prepare for a week that will hit 90 degrees at its peak, haha.
Sarcasm aside, it was nice to experience the (temporary) season shift and reminded me of how much I appreciate those slower days at home. The girl’s excitement is building for Halloween, and we have some fun celebrations coming up in November… so I know that despite whatever temperature the weather decides to throw at us, the next few months will be full of some special moments.
I hope everyone had a great weekend as well and a good week ahead!
