FOUR. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 4 years since little miss entered this world and made us parents. I can so vividly recall my mom, every year on our birthdays, telling us the story of when she went into labor with us. And while I never really understood the significance of that then, I completely understand it now…..
For me, I was scheduled to be induced with Harper (since she was a week late) the next day. It was a very rainy evening, and I was awakened in the very early morning hour (1am to be exact) to contractions. We’d already had two false labor alarms (which resulted in us going to the hospital and then being sent home) so when I woke up TJ he didn’t believe me (we still laugh about that…). And while the there are many other details of that day that I will spare you from, it’s a story TJ + I find ourselves talking about every year on Harper’s birthday….
She came on her own schedule, no one was going to tell her when she could make her appearance, and not much has changed since. She feels deeply, loves hard, and has brought us so much joy in the four years that she’s been in our lives. She made us parents, has taught us so much about ourselves, tests us daily, and makes us laugh….
After her small party this weekend, TJ + I went out to celebrate 4 years of being parents. We both felt so profoundly grateful for the life we have. It isn’t perfect… sometimes it’s chaotic and all we can do is look at each other and laugh… but it’s our life, and we feel so lucky that we’ve been given this opportunity to be Harper (and of course, Camille’s) parents!
Hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!
(Spent several hours Friday afternoon assembling a balloon garland for little miss’ party…. a little bubbly was in order! jeans, stripe top, cardigan, slippers)
(Spent Saturday morning celebrating little miss… a small unicorn themed celebration! My dress, belt, Harper’s dress, balloon arch kit, unicorn sign)
(Headed out for a date night to celebrate being parents for 4 years!… my top, jeans)
___________
It felt so good to get back into a regular workout routine last week… considering running a half marathon at some point this year! I always find it nice to have a goal when it comes to my morning runs… that being said, I saw that my favorite running shoes are in stock in a very similar color to mine here.
Everlane has a few new basics that I think are so cute… loving this long sleeve waffle tee, raglan fleece sweatshirt, and these square toe kitten block heels (the perfect height for me!).
I was recently asked for some warm weather getaway suggestions. A lot of my favorites from last season were restocked recently… like this black wrap skirt, white button up coverup, polka dot one piece suit (that I also wore as a bodysuit)…. but I also love this cardigan (in the orange color) for cooler evenings (even in Hawaii at this time I’ve needed a light weight cardigan… weak Californian) + these raffia sandals were my go-to pair last summer.
One of my favorite leopard blouses, perfect for a night out, was recently fully restocked. I love the feminine sleeves. My go-to oversized sweater dress was also restocked (I wore it for family photos and Camille’s baptism….).
I’m looking to add a running jacket to my workout gear + I’m loving the look of this quilted jacket.
I was also asked for a few little black dress suggestions… and all of these are under $100 and super cute…. love this organza dress (could easily dress up or down), tiered midi dress, v-neck sweater dress, and this ribbed midi sweater dress (would be beautiful with a duster cardigan or leather jacket).
