This weekend we celebrated Mother’s Day the only way we know how: with wine! Our mom’s favorite type of wine is Rose, which was perfect given the sunny and mild weather Orange County had this weekend. We tasted three delectably crisp, dry wines. It was the perfect way to celebrate our beautiful and incredible mothers and all they they have done for us.
When Shannon asked our mom and grandma what their favorite parts of being a mother was, our mom mentioned watching Shannon and I grow up and become such close friends, despite our beginnings, which were not always so friendly. For example, when I took Crayola safety scissors to Shannon’s brand new 101 Dalmatians bed spread, she wasn’t too happy with me. But then there were those times when the sister bond couldn’t be more apparent. Like when we went to Hawaii for the first time at ages 7 and 13, and we decided to go on a family snorkeling excursion. Well, having [self-diagn sensory processing problems, I had a very difficult time with the rain and wind that accompanied Hawaii’s variable weather patterns. Needless to say, I was being an obnoxious, whiny child. So, like the caring older sister she is, Shannon gave me her 7-up to sooth my tummy, and put a poncho over me to shield me from the rain, and comforted me like only big sisters do. 10 minutes later I was asleep on her shoulder. Moral of the story: sisters are the best.
{Before and After: The Before picture was not as happy as it looks (not that it even looks that happy to begin with). Can you spot Allison in the second picture, asleep on Shannon?}

Graduation is in two short weeks for me, so you can bet that graduation dress shopping has begun! Some of my favorites are this striped denim dress, this coral fit/flare with striped detail dress, this floral gem, a white beauty, this chic patterned piece, and this color blocked dress…suggestions? Opinions?!
Also! If you are in the area and looking for something fun and fabulous to do this Saturday night (5/17), come down to Muse boutique in Laguna Beach for a Serene Sky trunk show! We personally love Serene Sky’s jewelry and were so excited when she asked us to host this event at one of our favorite boutiques! There will be a braid bar, gorgeous jewelry and clothes, music and refreshments, and more! Hope to see you there!
