After having been away last weekend, I went into the weekend looking forward to being home and enjoying all of our fun little weekend routines. We returned to our fire-pit + wine Friday nights…. family workout Saturday morning… and then the rest was up for grabs. We had a spontaneous family get together to celebrate family birthdays, and then we headed out for a taco lunch, at one of our favorite spots, on Sunday afternoon….
We wrapped up the weekend with outside time in our backyard…. Harper running through the sprinklers, TJ on the bbq, and Camille + I hanging on the grass. It was one of those calm, warm, evenings that you wish you could bottle up and remember forever. Not because anything particularly special happened, but just because the simplicity of the moment felt right. So often I get caught up in maximizing every moment of every day and it’s often in those small, simple, unplanned moments that memories are made…..
So here’s to the week ahead…. and savoring the small, unexpected, moments….
P.S. I saw this quote at the end of last week and loved it. When I shared it on instagram so many people mentioned that they “needed that….” so I thought I’d share it today… as a way to start the week….
“I hope there are days that your coffee tastes like magic, your playlist makes you dance, strangers make you smile, and the night sky touches your soul. I hope you fall in love with being alive again.”
(Friday night feels… tank, shorts, cardigan)
(Saturday morning stroll with the family…. mug, shorts, tank, stroller)
(Love the simplicity of baby’s-breath)
(Prepping for family birthday celebrations….)
(Cleaned ourselves up for the night…. my dress, TJ’s shorts, Top)
(In our element… my dress)
(Warm summer Sunday evening….)
__________
I’ve been using this jade facial roller for the past five days and love the cooling sensation it gives to my face in the morning…
I just ordered this short sleeve sweater and I can’t wait to see how it looks with denim shorts… I sized up to a small to ensure a looser fit.
I’ve been on the hunt for a new pair of jeans since I had Camille and I’ve yet to find the perfect pair (I think my hips got wider during pregnancy, so sizing has been a challenge). A few pairs I am going to check out include this light wash distressed pair, black straight leg jean (love that the inseam seems short people friendly), and this high waisted cropped pair. Something has to work!
Loving this black lounging jumpsuit and this it would be so comfortable for summer evenings…
I was on the hunt for the perfect black and white stripe cover-up shirt (I’ve purchased two so far and they ended up being navy and white) and I have this one + this one coming…. hoping one works out since I think they’re easy to wear with a suit and also tucked into shorts for an everyday look.
A few cute pieces under $60 include this basic black bodysuit (love the neckline + arm length), leopard print dress (not an everyday item, but still so cute), beautiful ruffle cami (gorgeous color for fall too), and this cute ribbed sleeveless sweater (on sale too).
I bought this little bubble romper for Camille + this matching dress for Harper… plan on having them wear them in Hawaii for some photos.
Anthropologie had 20% off this weekend so I purchased this bed, side table, and rug for our master bedroom… can’t wait to see it come together.
These little anklets are seriously so cute….
I also found these beautiful, and super well made, beaded velvet headbands for under $20… such a fun way to dress up a basic outfit or dirty hair!
