Weekend Recap || Reconnecting

TJ + I headed down to the beach for an impromptu date night. We went back and forth as to if we should go or not… I was tired and not sure I felt like getting dressed up… weren’t sure if we should leave Harper knowing that our days of “three” are dwindling down… but we opted to go super casual + grabbed some to-go pizza for a picnic. While we were there we saw several engagement photo shoots, one maternity shoot, some high school senior portrait shoots, and an engagement proposal…. all within the span of an hour….

We couldn’t help but remark on how happy each group of people looked… all at transition points in their lives… ready to make huge commitments. Which got us reflecting on our own history together… we reminisced about our engagement evening, laughed about our engagement photos (such an awkward situation all around), and the anticipation + excitement of being pregnant for the first time…. one thing led to another and by the end we had arrived at where we are now. Waiting for baby #2.

It’s funny, had we canceled date night, we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to reflect on where we’ve been + how we’ve arrived at where we are today… and sometimes it’s the simple act of reflecting that can easily reconnect you. It’s those unexpected, simple moments, that are often the most powerful.

Hope you all have a great week friends! xx

(Kicked off the weekend with a visit to the Easter Bunny… per little miss’ request… turned out pretty much how I thought it would…. my dress (similar style), shoes, bag, hat)

(When the other person’s breakfast looks better… think we all took bites of TJ’s burrito at breakfast from KIT)

(A family walk in upper back bay… the wildflowers were SO beautiful… leggings, pullover, cap)

(Took date night to the beach with some pizza on the sand….)

(Kept it comfortable + casual for said date night…. joggers, sweater (on sale), hair clip)

(The sky was gorgeous…. gets me excited for summer nights)

(Sunday best with my little love…. jumpsuit, jacket, Harper’s dress)

(Casual Sunday afternoon with the fam…. shorts, tee, cardigan)
_________

I’ve been cutting back on the running these last couple of weeks and opting for walking + the Peloton bike… running was getting a little too challenging at this point….

I keep thinking about post pregnancy life, and what to wear, and for the past few months I’ve been loving the biker short trend… but couldn’t pull it off with a bump. I think they would be super stylish with an oversized tee + denim jacket…. I have my eye on this leopard pair + black pair. They’re both under $55, and the brand is great quality, so I figure it could be worth a try….

One of my favorite open knit sweaters is currently on sale… a great option for spring + summer…

I’m still loving the raffia shoe trend for spring + summer so much that I bought this sandal + this sandal… trying to decide which pair to keep….

I also think this ivory white blazer would be beautiful for the office, or even casual with denim shorts, a cami, and slides in the summer months. This stripe linen blazer is a beautiful option too…

I haven’t shopped at Abercrombie in a while, mainly because many of the pieces aren’t bump friendly, but looking ahead I see a few pieces that could be post-pregnancy friendly…. or just great spring/summer options. I love this button up puff sleeve top (so many cute color options), these satin elastic waistband joggers, wide legged chambray pants (especially like the button detailing), paperbag denim shorts, and these rib wide legged cropped pants (they look super comfortable).

Since I know I’ll be having long stretches between washing my hair soon (not that I wash it that frequently right now) I’m considering these rhinestone hair clips to dress up my hair….

A few pieces that I’ve been living in lately include this jumpsuit, denim jacket, raffia mules, black + white tank, thermal henley (since the weather can’t makeup it’s mind), round straw tote, studded slides, and these distressed joggers.
