Weekend Recap || 2020

(My favorite palm lined street….)

I hope everyone has been well. I took last week off to do some additional research + reflection on systemic racism, social injustices, and ways to help. I found some wonderful resources and will be sharing more later this week…. as well as what we’re specifically doing within our four walls….

And between the research and reflection motherhood continued. Harper had her first swim lesson of the season, we had an impromptu family get together, enjoyed the summer warmth, and we put together some tentative plans for summer travel…..

I stumbled across this quote as I was scrolling through instagram last night + felt it embodied so much of what I have been feeling, yet couldn’t quite articulate, about the past several months…..

What is 2020 isn’t cancelled?
What if 2020 is the year we’ve been waiting for?
A year so uncomfortable, so painful, so scary, so raw-
that it finally forces us to grow.
A year that screams so loud, finally awakening us
from our ignorant slumber.
A year we finally accept the need for change.
Declare change. Work for change. Become the change.
A year we finally band together, instead of pushing each other further apart.

2020 isn’t canceled, but rather the most important year of them all.

I’ve been trying to mix things up a bit with my workouts, so instead of doing all outdoor runs, I’m doing an interval peloton run (on the treadmill) to change things up a bit. I find that changing things up always helps with motivation. I have also been wearing this tie dye sports bra (super comfortable) for all my workouts, and highly recommend (best for smaller chests though). I also repurchased my exercise bands (they now come in a super cute ombré pink pattern) because the other ones snapped (after about a year and a half).

Some cute hair accessories I’m loving for summer include these metallic scrunchies (I use them all the time), these oversized scrunchies (they make any pony look super dressed up), and these shell clips.

My favorite Lou + Grey plush shorts were just released in a white color with the cutest matching top. This soft tee + cargo pants combo is also super cute as well.

I love these casual flip flops– they’re super cute for pool or beach days….

Some cute, under $100 date night tops (if you’re itching for one of those nights like I am…) include this crochet crop, eyelet puff sleeve top, easy chinos (great for work and casual summer day dates) and this one shoulder bodysuit.

While I typically lean more towards neutral colors, I’m loving sage + minty tones for this summer season.. these Ugg slippers, linen cami, button up cardigan, tie dye tee (would be oversized since it’s a men’s tee), cotton jumpsuit, t-shirt dress, eco-linen coverup, + lounge pants/tee.

I bought these little rainbow drawstring shorts for Harper and she loves them… so comfortable and great for how active she is.
