Weekend Recap || Life

“We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us….”

TJ + I headed out of town early Saturday morning for our babymoon/anniversary getaway. We hadn’t been away just the two of us since September, so to say we were looking forward to the weekend was an understatement. Knowing that life will be changing dramatically in six short weeks, we spent most of the weekend relaxing, sitting out by the pool, and doing nothing…. which is exactly how I envisioned the weekend….

I have a hard time doing “nothing” and so the idea of traveling for life not to escape us perfectly encapsulates this weekend. With a home renovation still incomplete, preparations for a newborn underway, a fuller than life toddler running around, and everything in between…. sometimes it feels as if life is flying by too fast. This weekend was the perfect reminder of how all the aforementioned blessings are even possible… our marriage. It’s amazing how a quick two days away can remind you of the life you’ve created + all you have to be grateful for….

We head home today, rejuvenated and ready for what’s about to unfold over the next several weeks. Hope you all have a wonderful week! xx

(Made our way down to the pool immediately for a little R+R)

_____________

We received our Peloton on Tuesday…. I’ve done two workouts thus far… and have loved them both. Such a great, and convenient, workout. I’ll share a complete review after I’ve used it a little bit longer.

Lou & Grey has some beautiful spring basics that I have my eye on… like this beautiful white ribbed button jumpsuit, striped soft tank, white v-neck midi dress, and this white jersey maxi dress. I think the shades of white are perfect for spring.

Looking to add a few new pieces of jewelry to my daily rotation and am loving these simple gold hoops, gold charmed bracelet (it matches the necklace I wear everyday), dainty coil ring, and bar chain earrings.

And how adorable is this under $100 ivory stripe top/bottom swimsuit…. I would swoop it up if I wasn’t unsure of what size I’ll need in a swimsuit come this summer.

I’ve been doing some nursery shopping over the past week and bought this giraffe basket, macrame pillow for the glider, rattan side table, cream rug, and crochet tassel garland (I actually bought two so Harper’s room could have one too).

A couple of cute spring + summer slides that I’ve seen recently include these black espadrille slip ons + these raffia slide sandals.

And… how adorable are the white paperbag shorts, black and white Madewell tie front tee, and this and beautiful eyelash lace white blouse?
