Friday couldn’t come quickly enough last week, and was welcomed with open arms and a crisp glass of rosé. After last week’s disappointment with the house, a slew of events occurred that really put me in a funk…. I tried everything that I usually do to get out of “ruts” + “funks…” and back to a “positive” state, but nothing seemed to work. Then I stumbled across this quote…
“Being positive doesn’t mean you live in a Candyland. Positive people have real problems. They get angry. They challenge people and fight hard for what they believe in. Positivity is not about wearing rose-colored glasses and rolling over when the going gets tough. It’s about being strong. It’s about being self-aware and accountable for your emotional state.”
I love the last part about being self-aware and responsible for your own emotional state. I think in life it’s so easy to suppress negative feelings of sadness, anger, and frustration. Yet sometimes, we need to fully experience those feelings in order to move forward in a positive way. I allowed myself to cry, I allowed myself to express my anger + frustrations, and allowed myself to just sit with the feelings. Then Sunday morning, when I woke up, I realized that the day was new and a fresh start. As I sit here Sunday evening, I feel increasingly more positive as we head into the week….
Sooo, if you find yourself in a similar place as me this coming week, allow yourself to feel…. talk it out… and know that feelings ebb and flow, just like the tide. The good ones come, the bad ones come, but they’re all temporary. Have a great week friends!

__________
With summer schedules super busy, it was nice to get back to a spin class this past weekend…. hoping to get there for a midweek workout as well… and planning on making these enchiladas sometime this week.
A few items I love, that ares till in stock from the Nordstrom sale, include these light blue crop leggings (high waisted and fit so well….), raw hem joggers + these fleece jogger pants (they both look so comfy….), beautiful kimono wrap top, super cute free people thermal, favorite tassel slip on Soludos, and this super cute black and white heart print top (love the drawstring details….). I also love these slip-on platform sneakers and these stacked heel sandals (love them with a dress in summer… particularly in the dark natural suede). I also think this Gorjana pendant necklace is beautiful… and you all know how much I love her pieces!
Levi’s has so many great jeans out right now… and one of my favorite ways to wear jeans in the summer is with a cute slide and tank. I snagged this raw hem pair (obsessed with the fit) and love this distressed black pair.
Beyond Yoga has some of my all time favorite workout pieces… and these fold over sweatpants in taupe are sitting in my cart… I think they’d look super cute with this pullover and these kicks.
LOFT’s new arrivals are so cute, and a few of them are currently 50% off. I’m currently eyeing this stripe off the shoulder top, adorable chambray romper (love the back detailing), obsessed with this hooded poncho jacket, basic flutter sleeve tank, beautiful black lace trim romper, and these bow mule flats (if you liked my Jeffrey Campbell pair, these are identical for a fraction of the price….). Oh, and check out this beautiful white open stitch sweater.
I also just bought this pretty white embroidered lace top… it’s on sale, and I love it for summer… because technically, we’re in the middle of it….
