Something I’m always reminded of when we travel, especially with little miss, is the quote, “The difference between an ordeal and an adventure is attitude…..” Admittedly, most of our weekend in the desert went by seamlessly. Yet, yesterday afternoon, while we were lounging by the pool, a small accident occurred and into the pool my phone went. It was completely dead. Luckily, we were able to replace the phone, minus two days worth of photos. And while it was a small blip in the weekend, it was only so because of our attitudes. No one overreacted…. we realized there were many other things that could have gone wrong on the trip… and we put together a plan to resolve the issue. It’s a simple reminder that in all of life, our attitude determines how we view, and then approach any situation….. So, as we head into the week ahead, I do so with the intention of viewing life’s adversities with a sense of adventure…. instead of a more negative alternative. Here’s so a good week friends!….
Also sharing a few Palm Springs favorites below, just in case you’re heading to the area anytime soon!….
Favorite Lodging:
While we 90% of the time choose to stay at La Quinta Resort + Spa, we opted for The Parker this time around. It’s not nearly as family/kiddo friendly as La Quinta, but we knew that going into it. We chose a larger room (the rooms are on the smaller side) with a patio, so that when Harper napped we could still relax outside. We also chose to park ourselves at the low key pool, as opposed to the more happening pool on property. At night, we hung out by the fire pit and had s’mores. If you’re traveling with a family, and want a complete family friendly experience, I recommend La Quinta Resort + Spa. They have beautiful grounds and with pools around your room, it makes the day run so smoothly. One of the only downfalls is that La Quinta is a good 20 miles from the downtown Palm Springs area, and if that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll have to drive a good distance to get there. It’s a sleepier town, but with a kiddo, we don’t mind it! If you’re looking for a spot that’s a little trendier, more happening, you can’t go wrong with The Parker.
Eats:
We are more of a breakfast out, dinner in kind of family when we’re with Harper, but all of the following are spots he love:
Reservoir: Excellent breakfast option with the prettiest little space….. I love the avocado toast with a poached egg.
King’s Highway: This spot is at The Ace hotel, but family friendly with a decent kid’s menu. Again, my favorite is the avo toast with a poached egg.
Cheeky’s: We’ve eaten here for lunch several times and have been very happy with each experience.
Birba: We came here for my sister’s Bachelorette Party, and then got take-out pizzas for dinner the other night. It’s a super cute spot, with an adorable patio, if you dine in…. my favorite is the arugula + prosciutto pizza.
(A little bubble to kick off the weekend… jacket, tee)
(Satisfying the hunger at Reservoir)
(Matching rainbow stripes…. my romper, hat, Harper’s dress)
(Pool bound…. my suit, pareo, slides, bag, Harper’s shorts, Suit)
(All white for an afternoon at the pool…. bottoms, kimono)
(Our little mixologist…. suit)
(Poolside fun…. my skirt, swim top)
(Ended the weekend with some fireside s’mores….)

I had to run to Target to pick up some last minute items for the desert, and ended up tossing the Tone It Up protein powder in my cart. I’m curious to see how it compares to the other brand (VEGA) that I’ve been using for a couple years. I’ll keep you posted….
I’ll be hosting a Beek By Two Birds giveaway today, or tomorrow, over on instagram so be sure to keep your eyes open for the photo. A few of my favorites pairs include this blush bow pair, embroidered rainbow slide, tan slide, and this studded pair. They are an investment, but I bought my first pair several years ago and they still look like new.
A few adorable, under $100, pairs of shorts I’ve found recently include this gingham pair (suuuuper cute front knotted with a white tee, or this matching top), high waisted stripe denim shorts (would be cute for Memorial Day too), and these white eyelet shorts.
In case you’re looking for a couple cute Memorial Day options, I think this chambray romper is adorable, star bodysuit (would be so cute with high waisted cut-offs + this pullover off the shoulder), white lace trim top (with the above mentioned striped shorts), a good red or blue stripe tee , or this stripe denim jacket (so so cute) with any of the above mentioned pieces.
I went to a lunch with Gorjana last week, an I am obsessed with these beautiful palm earrings. They’re gorgeous on too! I also got this connected loop necklace + this dainty horn necklace.
My mom just bought this adorable little bag, and both my sister and I were obsessed.
A few super cute everyday pieces I’m eyeing include this blush tiered tank, ruffle sleeve basic tee, flare sleeve white tee, and this lace trim white top.
I also think this tie front black cami is such a pretty top to have for these warmer months.
