(A little bubbly to kick off the weekend….)
Having spent many years working with families going through difficult times, I became very aware that Mother’s Day means something different for each individual…. and that it’s not always a day filled with celebration. There are mothers who have lost children, those who have lost mothers, those who have strained mother relationships, those who have chosen not to be mothers, and those yearning to become mothers…. and to all those individuals, my heart goes out to them… and it also makes me feel profoundly lucky for the mother, grandmother, and daughter (aka little tornado) that I have been blessed with. I thanked both my mom + grandma, in their cards, for the constant source of love, strength, comfort, and encouragement that they provided me with over the years…. both doing it in different ways, but in ways that truly impacted and shaped my development into the woman, and mom, I am today. And, as I sat reflecting on what I wanted to write, I began thinking about the day that Harper will write me a Mother’s Day card (this year it was a cute little scribble….). Of course, my hope is that she will write the same sentiments…. that she will always find me to be a safe base… someone she can come to, no matter what, someone who will be her cheerleader and let her know when she’s gone astray…. that she’ll find in me strength when she needs it… and that she can find in me comfort…..
And while I know that it’s my responsibility to teach her, guide her, love her, and comfort her… she has also taught me more than I could have ever imagined. She’s taught me to play more, laugh more, be silly and not care who’s watching…. to take joy in simple things… and to take life a little less seriously. Being her mom is both the most challenging + rewarding role I have ever had…. and I can’t wait to watch it evolve over the years.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend celebrating in the way that was most fitting for you! Here is to a wonderful week friends! xx

TJ made me these delicious waffles for breakfast yesterday….. and they’re super simple to make! We left out the protein powder this time around and just replaced it with 1/2 cup of almond flour so the entire family could enjoy. Drizzle with a little peanut butter and they’re delish!
It’s been May Grey here, but we’re heading out to the desert this coming weekend… I’m planning on bringing along my favorite cover-up pants, easy shift dress (seriously want one in every color), adorable tiered tank (obsessed), and cute little floral shorts (that I also took to Hawaii). I’m also looking at this pastel colored romper, visor (also looking at this one, this one + this larger option), white cut-offs (same brand as my favorite denim ones), favorite cut-out black maxi dress, and little pareo (can also double as a strapless dress). I also love these crochet coveralls…. so cute!
For Mother’s Day, TJ got me my favorite high waisted workout crops + sports bra, both in the beautiful smokey quartz…. and this shorter crescent necklace.
How adorable is this everyday jumpsuit?! I think both colors are super cute.
A few cute everyday items include this stripe tee (would be adorable with high waisted white shorts), bubble sleeve drawstring sweatshirt in mauve, tiered blush tank, linen blend kimono (cute with jeans and a tank or cut-offs), these paperbag waist jeans (obsessed), and these super comfortable bow slides in blush (I just got them and they’re super padded).
