Weekend Recap

Update:  In case you were wondering I did a pretty good job being more present this past week. I didn’t do my usual countdown (okay, I did on Thursday because I was just too excited for the weekend to get here!) and was able to follow through with some of my mid-week mini celebrations. I made the cold brews, had a movie night (I won’t even name the movie though, it was that terrible…), and was able to identify good parts of my day (that didn’t include being one day closer to Friday). To be honest, it felt good. Really good. I felt more able to live in the day and found that I was much more attentive to positive moments than when I am so “weekend focused.” But that won’t be happening this week (I know, it was short lived). I have a good excuse though… a Hawaiian vacation awaits starting Friday!

Since Hawaii is in 4 days (small cheer in my head!!) I’ve upped the intensity of my workouts by switching them up a little. If you have access to a treadmill and 5-10 lbs weights start at a speed of 4.0 with a 9.0 incline and continue for 45 minutes. Every other minute, for one minute, use the weights to toss in strength training and to kick up your heart rate. For the first 10 minutes do bicep curls, the next 10 minutes over-head triceps extensions, the next 10 lateral shoulder fly, and the last 10 a pectoral fly.

Picked up these shoes, hat, and sunnies for the trip to Hawaii.
