Weekend Recap || Community

As you all know, Sunday was half marathon day, and it didn’t disappoint. Despite a few setbacks (all of which I’ll chat more about on Wednesday…) it was an amazing day, and a reminder as to why I’ve always loved running so much: The community that surrounds the sport. In the midst of all the horrible things you hear on the news everyday,  there are amazingly positive ones that happen right under our noses that go unnoticed… and I couldn’t help but recognize them during yesterday’s race (not that I was really racing anyone….).

There were the countless number of people pushing running “wheelchairs” with their disabled friends or loved ones…. the blind woman who was running with her husband…. the gal who saw a little girl toss her shoe out of the running stroller (sounds familiar) and snatched it up and sprinted ahead (which takes so much effort when you’re on mile 10) to give it to the father…. or the hundreds of people who came out to cheer everyone on with bells, whistles, high fives, and signs…..

And while it may not seem hugely demonstrative, it was a salient example of the support that exists in small communities all around us, everyday. So, as we go into the week ahead, I do so with the appreciation of the small community I feel so lucky to be apart of! Have a great week friends!

(Cozied up for my bi-weekly MOPS (mother’s of pre-schoolers) group… always feels good to connect with other moms…. pullover, scarf)

(Saturday morning superfood bowls with my little crew… and teaching little miss to assert her needs early on in life….)

(We all slept in Saturday morning and moved super slow…. lounge tee, pants)

(My (and Tj’s) future running partner….)

(Post race soak….. felt so good….)

(Favorite comfies for a lazy Sunday…. joggers, tee, cardigan)

(Post run Pressed craving satisfied….)
_______

I woke up with a nasty little head cold on Friday, but luckily, with the help of a netti pot, vitality drink shots, and some essential oils I was well enough to run on Sunday! It felt so great to cross the finish line… more on that this coming Wednesday. If you have any running questions, feel free to send them my way and I can answer them!

So, this weekend TJ and I are heading down to San Diego for our Anniversary… 3 nights solo (#ParentsGoneWild)…. I plan on bringing one of my favorite ruffle bodysuits (snagged it for my sister’s bachelorette party last summer), one shoulder floral top, open knit sweater, leggings + crop hoodie duo for a spin class on Saturday, boyfriend denim jacket, mauve sweatshirt, and this neutral blazer (I wanted this striped option, but waited too long and it sold out… I’m sitting on the wait list right now… crossing my fingers.).

I’m also looking for a black pair of sunglasses. Quay always has super cute options, at great prices, and I’m looking at this pair in particular. We’re also going to Hawaii at the beginning of April and Tiare Hawaii carries some of my favorite getaway dresses… my three favorites include this cut-out black maxi dress, floral dress, and this similar black maxi number (leaning towards the first….). Also, I’m kinda obsessed with this pink hat (Hat Attack has the cutest….).

I’ve also found some super cute pink/blush kicks…. this vintage cortez pair (perfect for everyday), this white + pink running shoe, and this cross trainer. Annnd, how pretty are these rose colored leggings? I think they’re perfect for a workout… and then toss them on with a denim jacket and a graphic tee and you’re ready for the day ahead.

And, I found some adorable finds for Harper too…. like this adorable stripe jumpsuit, flutter sleeve top, and this adorable little peplum tee.
