Vacation Style || Summer Getaway Essentials

So, contrary to what some of the new arrivals in the store have to say, summer just started… and so too did our weekend getaways + warm weather trips. And with June Gloom just lifting from Southern California, I couldn’t be more ready to live in cut-offs, breezy fabrics, and my favorite summer accessories for the next few months….

We have a few more trips planned in the coming months… a big family trip to Hawaii to celebrate my dad’s retirement, a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate my sister’s 30th birthday (we’re finally in the same decade again…), and a couple more small desert trips… so if you’re looking for some summer pieces to take to the neighborhood pool… or your next big vacation, I’m rounding up all my favorites below… pieces I’ve already gotten so much wear out of… and that transition from day to night… or just activity to activity….

If you’re looking for something you don’t see above, be sure to check out this well curated vacation shop… so many beautiful pieces!

SANDALS

TKEES have always been a favorite casual sandal brand of mine for several years… and these basic camel flip flops are the perfect pool or beach pair to toss on and head out the door. If you’re looking for a pair that you can easily wear to the pool and out at night, I can’t recommend this raffia pair more…. obviously I wear them all the time. A pair that’s comfortable and dressy enough to wear out in the evening would hands down be this beautiful white slide (currently 40% off).

ACCESSORIES

The two hats that have been on heavy rotation for my past two Palm Springs trips include this wide brimmed fedora hat + this boater style frayed edge hat. Both go with all my outfits + suits… and provide great shade for my face + chest. My favorite woven tote holds a large beach towel, some pool toys, sunglasses, sunscreen, and some flip flops. I take it everywhere (and it’s on major sale). This shell bracelet + these wood earrings are neutral enough to go with any outfit… casual beach day, or dress up a dinner look.

DRESSES + COVERUPS

There is nothing I love more than when your favorite cover-up can effortlessly transition you from pool/beach to happy hours… and all of these hear do so seamlessly (trust me, I’ve done it…). For both of my Palm Springs trips I brought along this convertible maxi skirt + button up ruffle tiered dress. Wear the dress unbuttoned as a cover-up and it hangs perfectly on the body… or button it up, toss on a slip, and it works for a beautiful evening look. The skirt works as a high waisted option with any suit… or pull it up and wear it as an easy throw on and go dress. You could also pair it with any of the one piece suits I have listed below as a bodysuit + skirt combo for a night out. I love this open knit tunic to wear over a suit during the daytime or with cut-offs + a bandeau suit underneath for an evening happy hour. It hangs well on the body as well. A few other favorites include this strapless yellow dress (wore it out to dinner in Palm Springs… it’s so light and airy) as well as this knot front polka dot dress (another light and airy find… and love the muted polka dots….)… both are very nursing friendly as well. I bought these pink cover-up pants last season and they’re perfect with a white one piece suit, and how beautiful is this paisley flowy tunic top? I think it would be a beautiful cover-up or front tucked with cut-offs…. and this crochet skirt is on my list for Hawaii.

SWIMSUITS

I bought my first Solid + Striped suit last summer, and loved the fit so much I invested in a couple of them this season. This season I bought this leopard print + polka dot suit… both are perfect as bodysuits as well. This L Space polka dot suit (currently 30% off!) is also beautiful… and in the same muted polka dot print of the dress I love above. It fits great as well. My favorite two piece is this blush/mauve high waisted suit (seen in the photos above)… the material is so soft and it has a seamless look to it. If you’re looking for a basic high waisted two piece black suit, this suit is a great option. One other favorite is this ruffle back white one piece (I’ve had it for two seasons now).

SHORTS + TOPS

I’m obsessed with these linen shorts + this tie back top combo. I wear the shorts all the time, and the top is so cute for a fun day/night. Also love these airy white cover-up shorts… and this cute little ruffle tank is adorable when tossed over your favorite one-piece suit. And, I just ordered this cute blush set for my sister’s trip.
