The last time TJ and I headed to Palm Springs in the middle of winter it poured rain the entire time, and was freezing. We basically holed up on the room during the days, watching movies (I remember “The Cutting Edge” being one of them….) and taking naps. That was a very long time ago. So, when we booked this trip, I was initially wary about the weather. While I didn’t need the summer temps of the desert, I certainly wasn’t looking for a repeat of the last winter desert trip. We ended up lucking out with very mild temperatures (think high 70’s) which made relaxing outside very pleasant. All that to say, I diligently tracked the weather forecast the week ahead in an attempt to pack accordingly…

I ended up deciding that a few lightweight spring knits (like this gorgeous mauve one and fringe lace option), favorite cut-offs from last year, distressed jeans, and a pretty eyelet top would be perfect for evenings spent fireside. For the daytime, I bought this stripe asymmetrical suit and knotted cutout suit (Solid + Stripe makes some of my all time fav suits….)… perfect for days at the pool…. and this gorgeous kimono cover-up and floral embroidered one (which I’ve had for several years) would be great throw-on-and-go choices for a cover-up. I also tossed in this multi functional longline cardigan… perfect for a cooler pool day, and easily transitions into the evening hours. Annnnd, of course, Soludos makes some of my favorite vacation shoes… and this tasseled option wasn’t an exception. All items were great for no agenda + no make-up days at the pool…. and a then happy hour by the fire…..

A few other beautiful items that are great for a spring getaway include my favorite sweatshirt in mauve, beautiful navy + floral robe dress, and this super cute stripe skirt + top set. I also love this beautiful blush romper…. can easily act as a cover-up and then an evening piece tpp (with a light washed denim jacket)….. as well as this stripe midi dress and stripe ruffle neck dress. I guess I’d say the key to dressing on vacation is to keep it simple, casual, and effortless…..
