The one thing I love about traveling is the journey it takes to get there. I’m usually traveling with people I love, so I enjoy the conversation, the moments that are experienced along the way, and the anticipation about arriving to the destination. When we’re on a road trip (one of my favorites road trips was up the coast of California) I frequently map out rest stops (and no, not roadside stops). I like to visit restaurants I have been wanting to check out, or visit a new area that isn’t always easy to jet off to for the day (… as in LA… the traffic…). Given that we are usually stopping somewhere, I like my travel style to look effortless and pulled together, all while maintaing maximum comfort. For me, this is not the time to bust out those booty hugging skinnies. So, this past Monday when we were driving home, I opted for these über comfy faux leather leggings and the coziest of knits. We decided to stop along the water so I could nurse Harper (yes, in the car… hey, you gotta do what you gotta do…). The view was spectacular, and it was her first glimpse of the ocean waves. After that we headed to Venice and ate lunch (quickly) at The Butcher’s Daughter. It had just recently opened, and had been on my “to see, to eat” list since. It didn’t disappoint. The decor, perfect. The food, delicious. The service, friendly. Bottom line? Dress comfortably and visit The Butcher’s Daughter when in town!
