As I mentioned last week, we headed to Park City on Thursday morning… part of an annual trip we take, that always coincides with TJ’s birthday.
It’s always much anticipated because it’s the one time of the year we get to experience a true fall season- where the leaves turn spectacular colors (I always joke that the leaves go from green to brown in So. Cal- and that’s how you know fall has arrived…), the air is crisp, and it just feels like fall (very eloquently stated, but I feel like it’s the best way to describe it…). And it didn’t disappoint this time around.
We arrived mid afternoon on Thursday to the most beautiful yellow and orange leaves, and a chilly night that required cozy layers as we headed out to roast s’mores with the girls… and from there the weekend progressed. We did activities this trip we haven’t in the past (mainly because of the girl’s capabilities)- hiked Bloods Lake (also recommend Bonanza Flat Trail- we did that last year), took electric bikes out for a long ride (we rented from Magnum Bike Rentals Park City… and highly recommend). The girls worked towards merit badges that the hotel was offering (we stayed at the Montage, and have always found it to be very kid friendly, with their own on site bowling alley)…. so there was a lot of bowling, archery, and various outdoor activities… and when the trip was over everyone was sad to see it come to an end. Always a sign of a good time.
I’m sharing some of the highlights below… along with a few favorite breakfast spots (you can’t miss them when you’re in town), along with outfits we wore.
And now I’m off the finish reading “The Luckiest Girl Alive” before turning in for the night. I wasn’t sure about it after the first chapter, but now I’m engrossed in it and can’t wait to see what happens… and once I’m finished I’ll watch the Netflix movie (it’s what prompted me to read the book).
I hope everyone has a wonderful day ahead!
