Travel || Park City In The Fall

A few weeks ago we started throwing out some fall getaway ideas. We eventually booked a trip to Park City, with no definitive plans other than a hotel…. since we were ultimately uncertain as to if we would muster up the energy to get the family on a plane. Yet, last Thursday night, when TJ arrived home from several days away on business, we decided it would be a fun getaway for the family + an opportunity for a little R+R (well, you know, as much R+R you can have with two kiddos). Airfare was surprisingly reasonable, so we booked the trip, scrambled to pack up, and headed out Saturday morning….

Park City is one of my all time favorite cool weather destinations. I can’t pinpoint why, but there is just something magical about the spot for me. Maybe it’s because we don’t really experience fall in So. Cal (it’s 85 today), or maybe it’s because when we visit, we literally make a point to slow down, but either way, it’s a destination I highly recommend to everyone.

So today I’ve rounded up a few photos from the past weekend (along with outfit details) + some favorite restaurants in case you’re considering a vacation to this wonderful place!

LODGING

Montage Deer Valley: We’ve never stayed here during peak season (when rates are astronomically expensive) + typically opt to stay during their slower times of the year (fall + right before Thanksgiving). The rooms are incredibly spacious + they have so many wonderful family amenities from their bowling ally + game room to their indoor pool. We love their evening s’mores reception by the main fire-pit as well. We’ve dined at all their restaurants and can’t recommend them more… excellent beverage options, as well as delicious food. We love walking out and picking one of the several hiking trails that are available as well (we’ve done this in the fall + winter… it’s pretty magical in the snow). Service is exceptional, and the little kiddos are met with a sleigh full of stuffed animals to choose from (Harper still sleeps with the coyote she selected last year).

RESTAURANTS

So, as a family with two little ones under 4, we typically opt to dine at the hotel or use one of the delivery food services for in room dining (we opt to head out for a little happy hour instead)… it makes life so much less stressful. That being said, in years past we have dined out…. so here are some of our favorites (and most are available for delivery… we would know…).

All spots at The Montage (Burgers + Bourbon has great fries… and they have so many different burger options)
Harvest: This is one of our all time favorite places for breakfast… try the avocado smash + paleo banana bread.
five5seeds: Full of local and seasonal produce, everything is fresh + delicious. Open for breakfast + lunch
Fuego: Excellent pizza…delicious… and always order the spinach + arugula salad to go with the pizza.
Sergio’s Authentic Mexican Food: Delicious Mexican food… we both ordered soup… so fresh + filling.
Riverhorse on Main: Live music + great fine dining (not for takeout)…
