So, we’re finally making major headway on our master bedroom/bathroom remodel, and I couldn’t be more excited. Aside from the fact that we’ll actually have our entire house back, I’m looking forward to being able to fully utilize our backyard space. Most of it has been occupied with construction tools for the past 9 months, and I’m looking forward to finally setting up our outdoor dining furniture. Yes, while the rest of the country is likely preparing themselves to pack away their outdoor furniture, I’m in fact pulling it out + setting it up….
Mainly because September + October tend to be quite beautiful in Southern California. The temps tend to fluctuate between hot + mild… with the evenings cooling nicely + making dining al fresco quite pleasant. And because of these temperatures, I’m able to make many of my spring + summer items fall appropriate simply by making a few tweaks here and there.
I bought this embroidered, billowy, maxi dress when I was pregnant with Camille. The flowy nature made it more than comfortable in my last trimester… and during the summer months it was a comfortable postpartum piece that I could wear as a swim coverup, or simply belt around the waist for a more streamlined look. I decided that it works quite well for fall as well. Simply toss on a favorite pair of sneakers, and if the weather permits suede jacket (which I also bought last spring… great investment piece), and you’re ready for a casual brunch or lunch with the family… or a casual outdoor dinner.
A few other dresses I’m loving for fall include this floral maxi dress (I’ve had my eye on it for over a month), casual tiered midi dress, and this leopard print slip dress (so cute with a leather jacket!).
