When I was younger, I desperately wanted to paint each wall in my bedroom a different color (and we’re talking bright, brights here). I was politely told that wasn’t an option and that I could pick one color. Being stubborn (not much has changed since then…) I decided I didn’t want to pick one color. So, the color was chosen for me. White.
I was blessed with a second chance, a few years later, a few layers of maturity now under my belt, and I chose blue. I was in high school, amidst the drama of teenage years, and I wanted something calming, something tranquil. Blue seemed like a logical option. All the things I’ve always considered calming and tranquil were blue: ocean waves, the sky immediately proceeding a storm, and the comfort of my old favorite pair of blue jeans. So, as life gets hectic around me, I find myself turning to the soothing shade, like here, and with this dress from Lulu*s. And, since I’m always looking for ways to balance the classic and feminine parts of myself, this leather jacket seemed to pull it all together.
