The Rosé Spritzer: My New Go-To Warm Weather Cocktail

Something I never gave much thought to before the safe at home orders, was how much I appreciate living in an area that is sunny more days than not. We had a relatively mild winter season so I assumed the spring weather would follow suit with warmer than usual temperatures….. Yet ever since March 13th, when we officially began staying at home, the weather has been anything but mild… lots of rainy + cool days, leaving us inside more often than not. And let me tell you, I have a new found respect for all you mommas out there who live in areas that get real winters. Entertaining a toddler inside for an entire week was no easy feat….

All that to say, on those weekend when the weather is mild, the sun is out, and we spend it outside, a crisp + refreshing cocktail is typically on the menu. A couple of weekends ago I was thinking about giving an Aperol Spritz a try. Then I remembered that I tried it several years ago and there was just something about it that didn’t suit my tastebuds… and after doing a little research on the “characteristics” of a spritz decided that I couldn’t go wrong using a little rosé as my base. The end result was a light + refreshing cocktail that perfectly suits an al fresco happy hour outside…..
