Ever since I was little, I can remember going to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale with my mom and sister. We’d pick out clothes for the new school year, grab a big ol’ rice krispie treat, and spend the day together. Over the years we’ve kept with the tradition, and yesterday was no different. My mom, sister, and I headed out to the sale, spent the day laughing together (you know, when you try on those hideous items and all you can do is laugh….), and had a little lunch together. Someday I can only hope that Harper will love to spend as much time with me as I do my mom, and soon enough, she’ll be joining us on these little adventures….
With that being said, I’ve compiled my yearly list of personal favorites from the sale… either items I’ve owned for a while that they brought back this season… or items I picked up this year….. all under $100 (except for a couple pairs of shoes at the end…)….
TOPS:
I snagged a few cute little tops for a date night/happy hour out…. I loved the feminine fit + print of the floral top above. It has hidden snap closures down the front, has a perfect v-neckline, and the tie in the front makes it fit perfectly. You could easily transition this to fall with jeans, booties, and a suede jacket or cardigan. I also bought the black and white top featured above. Again, a feminine fit with the ruffle hem on the sleeves and bottom of the top. It also comes in black, which would be super cute with black shorts or jeans for a monochromatic look.
I bought this basic oversized tunic too. It’s super cute front knotted or front tucked…. and also this blush embroidered floral thermal.
Rails makes the softest flannels and I own three already (bought my first when I was pregnant with Harper). I own the black + white, red plaid, and a blush plaid top (which isn’t available anymore).
This black and white bell sleeve top is back from last year and it’s another cute option front knotted. I wore it all throughout the end of summer that way!
I also love this beautiful and flow-y Free People top… it was in my cart but my size sold out!
SWEATERS:
My favorite oversized chunky cardigan, that I’ve had for two seasons (featured above), is back at the sale in three color options. My 90 year old grandma also owns this winner of a cardigan!
The softest Madewell cardigan, The Ryder Cardigan, that I bought at the beginning of this year, is on sale in several color options. Super well made, and a lighter weight option than the Free People one above.
A few new purchases this season include this ribbed faux wrap sweater (no wool, and lightweight enough for a summer evening….) in tan, colorblock knit pullover (see below…. I’d had my eye on it for a little while….), and this Barefoot Dreams lounge cardigan (also great for travel….)… I’ve been wanting one for a few years and decided that since it was on sale, it was time to invest.
PULLOVERS:
I bought this amazing Madewell hoodie last May (as in 2017), and it sold out so quickly…. it’s back for the sale! I’ve worn it post workout, with jeans (styled below), and with cut-offs. I love the mauve color too. I sized up to a S.
I bought this light blue slouchy Free People pullover yesterday…. I own this pullover in a light grey option (that I bought two seasons ago) and it’s still a favorite, so I knew this one would be a great investment. It comes in several color options.
This convertible blush wrap top is a two for one option. You can wear it as a wrap top or undo the clip behind it and wear it as a duster cardigan. I love a two for one and thought it would be easy to lounge in, as well as toss on with jeans and wear post workout too.
WORKOUT WEAR:
*No photo for this section because I was having too much fun with my sister taking boomerangs…. sorry!
Ok, the leggings selection was amazing!! Since I workout daily, and often stay in my leggings a couple times a week, I always invest in a couple pairs at the sale…..
My all time favorite, high waisted, black leggings are on mega sale. I wear them to workout in as well as around town (tucked into over the knee boots with a tunic is super cute too). Annnd, my super super soft like butter Beyond Yoga high waisted leggings are on sale too (I’ve owned them for a couple years and bought my first pair after Harper was born.). I also bought this high waisted gray crop pair at last year’s sale and still wear them all the time. The fit is wonderful, and they never fall down (….they stay put).
This year I bought this high waisted red pair (my sister did too) because the fit is ah-mazing…. and I got this white open back tank to front knot with them. These crop tanks are great for yoga, running, walking, and HIIT workouts. Love them front tucked into my high waisted leggings. I bought this sports bra (sized up to a M… not because my chest is large, but because my rib cage is wide….). And, I talk all the time about how much I love ALO yoga because of its amazing quality, and these crops + this waffle knit tank aren’t an exception. They came home too. I also love this Adidas pullover as a post workout option.
LOUNGEWEAR:
My favorite lounge shorts from last year are back and one sale for $22… I live in these during the summer.
I bought this short/tee pajama set this year…. haven’t received it yet though since it wasn’t available at the store…. but it will be super comfortable with the Barefoot Dreams cardigan.
I did try this PJ Salvage shorts + long sleeve top set on (in the flowers) and it was so soft and comfortable.
DRESS:
I saw a lot of dresses, but this bodycon v-neck one came home with me… easy to wear with kicks, sandals, or booties I thought it was versatile for day + night, summer + fall.
UNDERWARE:
I wear this seamless pair with all my workout leggings and it seems to eliminate any drastic VPLs….
JEWELRY:
Gorjana has a beautiful sale selection this year. I bought these dainty stud earrings, perfect for everyday… and bought my sister this gold adjustable bracelet and this gemstone bracelet for her birthday.
SHOES:
Ok, so, we got really tired and decided to leave before we looked at the shoe section….. BUT, my tassel mules are on sale, a few style modifications (color + a little distressing), and are such a comfortable everyday option….
And, the Adidas cross training shoes I always rave about (read here) are on sale as well… in a gorgeous gray color and bright pink option…..
My black Hunter Rain boots are included as well (see them here with little miss).
Since I didn’t get to see the shoes in person, a few pairs that I’m considering include these textured booties, platform slip-ons, a + these beautiful charcoal over the knee boots.
LITTLE MISS:
I’ll be doing an entire post for the little ones, but yesterday I grabbed Harper this little polka dot dress, perfect for summer and this little yellow stripe tank.
