Let’s be honest. Sometimes you simply don’t have time to make drastic changes to your daytime ensemble to dress it up enough for the evening.

Especially if that is during the week.

So, what’s a girl to do? Choose a basic base of course. I always like a simple LBD for a day of errands and a night out. It allows me to feel put together during the day and with a few simple swaps, easily turns into an evening ensemble.

I’m loving this little black dress for a number of reasons, but particularly for its drop waist nature and flirty hemline. When paired with the vest and kicks it’s slightly more structured. I’ve also chosen to opt out of a purse, as the diaper bag has rapidly replaced mine for the day. Which is exactly why I advice investing in a durable, neutral, and stylish style. It’s with you all the time… and who wants to sacrifice style just because you have a bag full of diapers and wipes? Not me. This one meets all my requirements.

When I want to dress it up a little, my go-tos are always these studded flats and a punch of color with this little red bag (LRB??). Toss on a suede coat as a fun alternative to leather and you’ve got yourself a simple and polished evening look.
