Well, we’ve been melting down here in Southern California…. with the humidity up, and the temperatures in the high 90’s, I’ve relegated myself to a pool or the refreshing AC of a house…..

I used to work as a traveling therapist… going in homes to provide mental health services to families… and the middle of summer was quite possibly one of the most challenging times. With temps in the 100’s, and most homes without air conditioning, I became quite adept at figuring out how to dress “professionally” while not wearing something that I was literally going to sweat through (I was extremely thankful for our business casual, sometimes more casual, dress code during those summer months…). Light fabrics, breezy pieces, and no gray shades were on heavy rotation….

And while there are aspects of this jumpsuit that are anything but work appropriate (like the open back details, which I love….), it reminds me of something (similar) I might have worn on the regular. With its wide legs (we don’t need anything clinging to our bodies when we’re already hot…), lightweight fabric, and fun print, it’s literally perfect for those warm summer days (or, toss on a denim jacket, suede jacket or cozy cardigan in the cooler months… in 3 months….). The tiny polka dot print is an added bonus… since I’ve been loving using polka dots as a statement piece in any outfit….

A few other polka dot pieces that I love, love include this smocked maxi dress (just got it and I am obsessed with the fit), bell sleeved bodysuit (I’ve had it since January and love it with jeans or cut-offs), these adorable breezy shorts (would be super cute with this cream pullover), white polka dot smocked top, and this flowy mustard colored dress (loving the color….)…. all perfectly breezy pieces for summer heat waves!
