Summer Style || My Go-To Shorts

There is nothing more quintessential about summer than a good pair of shorts. And since the weather has been relatively warm here over the last several weeks, I’ve already dusted some of my favorites off and they’re been on heavy rotation….

With Memorial Day being the “unofficial” start of summer, I thought I would round up a few go-to pairs that I think are excellent options for this summer season ahead. So, whether we’re all still safe at home or able to venture out into the public sphere, all these pairs should work for either situation…

REESE AGOLDE SHORTS

I’m a huge fan of the AGOLDE line of denim. They withstand season after season of wear, have excellent inseams + rises, and they just fit really well. I bought this Reese pair at the end of February and have been wearing them regularly on our warm days. The inseam is slightly longer, simple frayed details at the hem, and the rise is slightly higher than the Parkers. I highly recommend these if you want minimal distressing. (black linen tank)

REFORMATION NASHVILLE LINEN SHORTS

I discovered the Nashville Linen shorts last season and wore them all the time. With a loose, breezy, fit they are such an easy option to throw on and go. I wear them as a bathing suit coverup or as an everyday option as well. They also come in black and a striped color. As far as sizing goes, if you’re between I recommend sizing up since the waistband can feel fitted. (open knit sweater)

LOU + GREY SIGNATURE SOFT SHORTS

If you’re looking for a plush, comfortable, short for lounging, running errands, or chasing after kiddos then look no further. The Lou + Grey Signature Soft shorts are just as soft as the pants I always recommend and have been a staple in my closet since last summer. The matching poncho (which I also own and love) creates the perfect set. These fit tts.

BDG HIGH WAISTED BLACK SHORTS

I turn to black shorts when I want to look pulled together and casual… especially when pairing it with a black top. This pair from Urban Outfitters is at an excellent price point (under $50) and fits great. They have nice stretch, frayed hemline, and are high waisted. I sized up since I found they run a little small. My other go-to pair of black shorts are the AGOLDE Dee High rise (size up for these as well). (tank, lariat necklace)

BDG HIGH WAISTED MOM SHORT

If you prefer zero distressing, a nice loose fit, and something that covers your rear when bending over (please and thank you for me…) then this high waist mom short is a great option! You can easily wear these with all sorts of tops… bodysuits, loose tees front tucked, an oversized sweater, or as a swim coverup. I do recommend sizing up with these since they have zero stretch to them! (sweater)

AGOLDE PARKER SHORTS

I’ve had the Parker shorts for 3 seasons. Easily my all time favorite pair of denim shorts. I love the distressing, the slightly slouchy fit, and how they work with anything. I live in them all summer long. As far as sizing goes, I bought my regular size, one size up was too big. Like all shorts, they will stretch out slightly, but they don’t stretch out much.

BDG HIGH WAISTED PAPER BAG SHORTS

I’m still a huge fan of paper bag shorts… they’re a slightly dressier style of short that would be fun for a date night or brunch (depending on how dressed up you want to get)…. and this pair is a great fit. You can easily wear a fitted tank fully tucked in… or a looser top (shown here) for a more relaxed fit. These fit tts and are incredibly comfortable.
