Summer Style || Dresses

The year TJ and I got married, we were the first in a slew of weddings (five to be exact) that would follow over the next three months. Five weddings meant five bridal showers, five bachelorette parties, five wedding dresses (for those weddings I wasn’t in the bridal party), and a few rehearsal dinner dresses. While it was one of the most fun times in our lives, it took a lot of planning, preparation, and saving to make it all come together. Not wanting to wear the same dress to every single event (I mean, what fun would that be??….) I looked for cute, budget friendly options for many of the occasions…. and when I majorly purged my closet last weekend, I came across a few of them (yes, I’d had them in my closet for eight years….) and each brought back so many fun memories. And while we’re definitely not in the wedding circuit these days (think more along the lines of baby showers, toddler parties, and mid-thirty celebrations… did I just really type that??….) summer brings about so many different events that require something other than your typical cut-offs + a cute top combination….

The Topshop dress selection at Nordstrom has some of the cutest, on trend, budget friendly options. I stumbled upon this adorable smocked maxi dress and knew it would be perfect for the warm summer months. Casual enough for a daytime/early evening event… and even easy enough to toss on over a swimsuit. I rounded up a few of my favorites, for various summer celebrations, below just in case you have a jammed packed summer, filled with fun, and need something equally as fun to go along with the occasion…..

For a shower, I am loving this beautiful ruched slip dress, bell sleeved shift dress (love the blush color), ruffled floral dress, and this blue and white striped slip dress.

For a wedding, this beautiful floral off the shoulder dress is a great summer option…. and this ruffled faux wrap midi dress is a gorgeous color! Both colors are a little brighter than what I would typically wear, but beautiful for a summertime wedding. For a dress that is a little more neutral, try this ruffle wrap dress.

For a fun girl’s night or date night I am obsessed with this mauve cut-out dress and black and white polka dot slip dress.

Annnnd, for a casual day at the beach this black off the shoulder dress or little light blue cover-up dress are both perfect options. They can easily take you from beach to happy hour… which is always my goal….
