The last big trip TJ + I took solo, before entering the world of parenthood, was a two week, three country, vacation through Europe. We started in Barcelona, headed through Switzerland, and then took the train into Paris where we spent four days visiting favorites from our previous trip, and discovering new places that are forever earmarked as favorite moments in my heart. The first time we were in Paris it rained (read: poured sheets) the entire time…. yet the second time around it was absolutely beautiful… temperatures were in the upper 70s and the sun was shining every day. Given that, we were able to spend a considerable amount of time outdoors, exploring the gardens + dining outside at the sidewalk cafés…..
And while I have so many memories that I truly cherish from that trip, maybe the most special was a simple sunset picnic that TJ + I enjoyed at the Île St.-Louis…. a natural island in the Seine river. It was a simple moment… we picked up some cheese + crackers, a bottle of champagne, and headed down to the water for some rich conversation + a beautiful sunset.
While we were there, I spent most of my time in outfits like the one you see today… comfortable flats, breezy fabrics, and convertible bags that could be worn cross body or as a backpack. I was introduced to the Parisian brand Sézane about a year ago. Not only are their pieces timeless and effortless, but as a brand they stand behind sustainability + philanthropy. Their summer collection is filled with beautiful items that are sure to take you through all your summer plans… casual brunch with friends, a family vacation, or special evening out with your love. I purchased this striped dress several weeks ago and decided to wear it this past weekend for a family lunch at our favorite casual restaurant at the beach… I opted to dress it down with these comfortable sneakers but it could easily be dressed up for a bridal/baby shower, or date night, with a simple shoe swap. A few other items from the summer collection that are my personal favorites include this airy white ruffle sleeve top, basic black ribbed bodysuit (so versatile), and this flouncy little white dress. If you’re looking for a few beautiful pieces to round out your summer wardrobe, then I can’t recommend all of these more.
