Our initial plans for this past weekend always involved heading down to San Diego. What shifted early Sunday morning, was the timing of it all. With a nursing baby, we have windows in which we travel and do most of our activities. We had originally intended to head down after the second “feeding” of the day, leaving ample time for packing, showering, and loading the car. Yet, after being up bright and early, we decided to get a head start and leave a few hours earlier. Not having showered, or packed, I went into a mild state of anxiety (not about the showering… that could wait… more about the packing). In a hurry, I pulled items from my closet (which had been neatly put back together after the second collapse… you might have caught it up on snapchat) and dresser, tossed them into an overnight bag (no, that small overnight bag didn’t actually zip), and headed out the door.
When it came time to dressing for the day, I was pleasantly surprised… and happy with my last minute decisions. Why? For starters, I’m having a love affair with suede, as it goes with pretty much anything and is an equally edgy alternative to leather. Second reason why? This flowy, lace, romantic top was just waiting for a day out, and adds just the right amount of femininity. Thanks to both, it might have been the most successful, unplanned packing I’ve ever done!
