I hope everyone had a fabulous Fourth of July weekend! We bar-b-qued at my parent’s house on the fourth and then the hubby and I set off to the desert for the rest of the weekend to stay at one of our favorite resorts La Quinta Resort & Spa! Highly recommended! We didn’t do much except a few small workouts and some major R&R, which was just what I needed! After lounging all day in the sun and pool (maybe sipping a mimosa here and there…) I wanted to throw something on that was flowy, casual, but statement making. Isn’t red just the perfect color for making a statement? I can’t get enough red… it’s as if everything I have my eyes on has some element of the color in it! Maybe it’s because of the powerful yet feminine nature that it exudes? I don’t know, but I’ve always had an affinity for the color (I look back at my high school formal days and sorority dances and red is definitely abound) so when I saw this red maxi dress at a small boutique during our “San Diego Day of Fitness” I just had to indulge myself (and yes, we managed to sneak in some shopping amidst the working out!). As usual, I threw on my favorite gold accessories, tossed my essentials into the leopard clutch, and we were ready for a night out!
