Poolside to Sunset Dining

IMG_8295

As I mentioned yesterday, we lounged by the pool as long as we could to savor every last sunny moment of the day. When it came time to transition to dinner, it was pretty late and we wanted to catch the sunset. So, we decided to forgo showers (oops), toss on some casual attire, and walk to the restaurant. We justified the “no showers” by the heat, humidity, and the walk that we were going to be taking to and from the restaurant. My hair stayed in the low bun it had been in all day, and I didn’t bother to add any make-up… a hat can work wonders on hiding anything :). But the dress. I bought this dress several years ago to wear to my Master’s degree graduation. It was labeled as a “swim coverup.” To be honest, I was slightly taken aback. I thought to myself, “For that price, who would sanely wear that to a pool??” Well, here I am, several years later, wearing it to a pool and doing exactly as the description said the dress could do: transition perfectly from poolside to sunset dining. Moral of the story? Never say never.
