Our One Tip For Working Out As A Family…. + Workout Wear To Outfit Everyone

After having taken almost a week off from any physical activity over the Thanksgiving weekend, it felt so good to get back into the swing of things come Monday. I laced up, headed out for a morning run, and got the blood flowing. It’s not usually until after my workouts that I realize how impactful they are for my mood…. I smile more, feel better, and have an overall more positive disposition when I get in some sort of workout….

All that to say, when we welcomed Camille into the family, TJ + I had to get creative with how we snuck in our workouts. We seem to have found some balance during the week + when it comes to the weekends we get the entire family involved. I frequently get asked how we’re able to drag along little miss on our walks, hikes, etc… and over the years we’ve discovered it involves one important criteria: make it fun. Like most things with toddlers, if you can get them engaged + laughing, they’re all for it…

While this doesn’t always make for the most rigorous workout, it gets us all out together + allows us to spend some quality time with one another… and to impart the importance of moving to little miss (and eventually Camille… right now she just chills in a carrier or stroller…). What does this look like exactly? TJ, Harper, + Captain (our little labradoodle) race each other on the trail… Harper hikes right next to us on our hikes, we bring a ball on our morning walks + TJ + Harper alternate kicking it and running after it… really anything to get her involved + having fun. And then when she’s tired, she sits nicely in the stroller (or hiking carrier) with a snack + we can finish our workout (YAS!)….

Given that we’re such an active family, giving the gift of fitness during the holidays is always a theme. If you’re looking to give the gift of fitness this season as well, Nike has so many excellent products to choose from. Superior quality, maximum comfort during your workouts, + stylish finds. Over the years, both TJ + I have been a huge fan of Nike for our running shoe needs and we can’t recommend the VaporMax Flyknit shoe more. It provides a cushioned run, which is always essential for me,  and it’s lightweight as well. I gifted TJ these joggers several years ago and he still wears them to this day… for running, traveling, or just around town. We bought the two toned version a few weeks ago, along with the matching jacket… both of which he will be living in this busy holiday season for traveling (also a great gift idea!). Both of our beanies would be an excellent stocking stuffer… super warm, soft, and easy to wear during a workout. And of course, not wanting to forget the little ones, Harper has always loved her Nike Cortez sneakers… probably because TJ wears them (she emulates him)… but also because she says they make her “jump higher.” I love the leopard leggings + pullover set for her, along with the matching fleece jumpsuit for Camille… and her beanie + socks set is great for a stocking as well!

A few other items that would make great gifts for the fitness fanatic include the women’s tech fleece zip-up, windrunner hooded jacket, any of these adorable baby sets,  and this toddler jacket + leggins set.
